Flowmaster 40 too loud??

I have the Flow 50 Truck/SUV series and I am thinking of swapping to a Flow 40 DeltaFlow.

Anyone have any sound clips of a 40?? I see alot for the 70 series, but no 40. My 50 sounds nice but still a little tame. I have single in dual out.

I have a 40 single in dual out. It is loud under acceleration, but it wouldnt bother me if it was louder. A little drone around 1600rpm, but that is the price you pay. Should be able to find some soundclips with a decent search.

Your cardomain site says that you have Flowmaster mufflers, as in 2 mufflers??

Do you have true duals or just the one 40 single in and dual out?

Also is yours the 40 deltaflow series?

thanks

I had dual 40 series on my Chevy 1500 350ci for a couple months. The sound was what I wanted at idle, but I got a nasty resonance at 58mph and again around 75mph. In the end I got tired of putting up with the resonance on the highway and it only got worse if I pulled a trailor. I switched them out for a sety of Dynomax Super -Turbos and never regretted the change.

I've got one. Sounds great outside the truck. Inside you hear just enough. I'm really really happy with my setup.

Mine is a FM 40 single in dual out 3' pipes with 3 1/2 magnaflow slash cut tips. It resonates between 1800 and 2000 rpm but everyone says it sounds awesome. I got used to the sound and I just turn up the stereo!

What is the difference between regular 40 series, 40 series deltaflow, and the Super-40? Super 40 sounds cool...but I don't know what it means. What makes it so "super?" Batmans sig says he has the Super40

The super 40 is flowmasters latest 40 series muffler. It has the "delta technology" of the 40 series and is supposed to be a little better, louder, easier to breath, more ponies and what not. My friend has a regular 40 series on his '01 ram with the 5.9 with 3" pipes, I have 2" and for the most part they sound the same. My friends say when we get on it mine is louder but that might just be the engine. His is much louder in the truck though. That may just be the quality of the truck. Our are probally better sound proofed. Hope I helped. Any more questions just ask.

I have the regular 40 series single in single out, and to me it sounds great. Im not a fan of loud pipes but to me it is not loud, it just lets you hear how bad that titan really is.

I can't imagine the 40's series sounding that much louder than the 50's series, or giving much more performance for that matter. I doubt sound clips are going to help much in your case.

I have a FM delta 40 series on my truck. It is pretty loud while driving normally. The three things I don't like about it is when you go under WOT it crackles and sounds like ****. Normal " around town" driving it sounds nice. THe second thing is it has a nasty drone at highway speeds. I do a lot of highway driving so this tends to bother me a bit. So much that I bought a B&B cat-back system to replace it. If you can deal with the drone, kudos, but I couldn't. The third thing is that I think I lost some low end power. I have stock pipes with just the muffler being replaced, but I do believe I lost some umph when I replaced just the muffler. Hope I helped!
