Question re. K&N 77 vs. 57 Series Intakes?

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I am looking for some insight and practical experience feedback on these two K&N systems. Yes, I have tried calling K&N on 4 different occasions and have received 4 different answers and a failed call-back from a K&N engineer! In a word, K&N customer service is terrible and if it weren't for past good luck with their product, I would not bother buying another product from them!

And my concerns are: 1)Where is the torque dyno graph(K&N response-"people only want to know the hp increase") 2)What are the engineering differences between the two intake designs(K&N response-"one is for show and one for performance") 3) Why is the MAF after the vents and will it cause future problems with fouling on the 57 Series intake(K&N response-"those intake breather tubes, air is pulled in"). What the *@^?

I may need to glance at the other intake systems on the market but: 1) The AEM seems like a little trying to install and may have a fragile tube? 2) Airaid seems damn pricey for a filter and upper half of an airbox cover! 3)Volant may have a good customer service person/dept. but, we shouldn't as customers be on version #3 for fitment issues. Is there a rebate for those customers with versions numbers #1 and 2 of the Volant system?

Yes I have done a Search of past threads and now need more(new) personal experience input.

Thanks

K&N

I was able to find the Dyno sheets on their web sight for the FIPK. http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/57-6012.jpg

I have not had any issues with my K&N. Installation (sans the addition of the Throttle body spacer) went off without a hitch.

I can not speak for the others, but I love the K&N
