Door Locks for 04 Titan KC XE

I currently have a 2004 Titan KC XE without the power package. I need to know if anyone has added aftermarket automatic doorlocks. If anyone can tell me where I can buy them from it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows where i can get the power window kits that would be a big help also. Thanks for the help.

I went to audio king in Minnesota and they installed power locks and a remote starter. There was something different about the door locks on the titan so they had to disconnect the inside locks so they don't work but the key and remote do.If you find power windows please post it I've been wanting to get some.

I installed this power door lock/keyless entry kit in my XE:
http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/...ode=W01C-RF104

I installed this power window kit:
http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/...Code=3300-0030
with this switch kit:
http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/...Category_Code=
For the manual window crank plugs, I turned some billet aluminum covers instead of using the cheap plastic covers that came with the kit.

I ordered the kits from the site in the link, and all were very easy installs.

Mod507,

I too, drive a XE with no power package. . I live in MN. I searched, asked and called a couple custom auto places to see if they would do power windows installation but couldn't find any. So I called SPAL, the maker of the power windows kit and they gave me some numbers of companies that purchase their kits.

She gave me about 4 numbers, only 1 actually do the installs the rest just sold the product. The place is called Dealer Automotive Services, there's a shop in Hopkins and one in Roseville. I was supposed to go get it installed this friday but after telling the wife. She kicked me around and said, it'd be better to spend the $$$ on the baby or for bills.. . Needless to say, I had to cancel my appointment.. I've been wanting to get the install since the day I bought the truck but it's not going to happen anytime soon.

There's a 1 year warranty on the product and install and the guy quoted me around $450 for the 2 door power windows installation with 3 switches. I hope this info helps!!..

Do you think the install is easy enough for someone who haven't done it before. I've installed CD decks, amps and subs lots of times before, very easy. I've changed oil, dif fluid, done brakes.. basically the basics but the whole installing power windows thing is intimidating to me.. what is your insight?

That is a good price. I did the all the work for my power windows and locks and can answer any questions that come up. I found the door locks to be more challenging than the windows, but everyone is different.

Very easy. The instructions are very detailed. I had the same experience as you, so you should have no problems. I was intimidated too, but once you open the box of parts and see that there are really only 3 parts to install, your fears are immediately alleviated. Just like wiring up an amp or head unit with a harness converter.

Just take your time and read the directions. Like Wazzu said, ask questions. There are a few of us that installed aftermarket kits that can answer any questions you have.

Possible, but pricey. Also, you won't get the auto-up/down functions without recoding the BCM. The main power window switch uses serial connections to the BCM to control auto-up/down, keyfob, and key cylinder capabilities.

Consult/ PM Pciley with this question. I believe he either did it, or attempted it.

I bought the power door locks and power window kit from alelectric last October. I was starting to regret buying the XE but after that upgrade I was in heaven.

After you installed the power windows what do you do with the crank for the windows? and where did you get the power source for it?

I plugged the crank hole with a custom billet cover, didn't like the plastic one that SPAL offered. For power, I ran off of the ignition main power so that the switch was only illuminated when the truck is on.

I used the SPAL cap, and got 12v from the fuse block with a "fuse extender", and I wired the switch kit so that the switch lights come on when the parking lights are on. I got the wire under the stearing column.
