Thumbs up Zoomers Exhaust - Installed

Saturday morning I drove about 90 miles to get my exhaust and have it installed. I read through some posts the previous day of other forum members that Ron is a client at trying to get a feel for what I was getting myself into. All seemed like satisfied customers but, you never know. So, all in all, I didn’t know what really to expect!

Any way, after driving for almost two hours, part of that being lost for 15 minutes, I finally find his shop. Up on the rack is a beautiful Magnum RT/10 with its dual Zoomer tips visible from the rear end. I get a phone call and have to run out of the shop for a few minutes... By the time I get back they've gotten it off the rack and I can't believe the sound! The car peels out down the alley way and I can't wait for mine to be next.

Orange (Ron's shop mechanic) gets my keys and drives my titan onto the rack and up it goes into the air. I hung out by the door not really knowing where to go for fear of being in the way... Ron tells me to come in, get up close to take some pictures and take a look around the shop. I gladly do this as you all will see. In about an hours time and some bsin' on all of our parts, Ron and Orange get the install finished.

I couldn't wait to hear the sound! Ron starts up my Titan to back it off the lift and I couldn't believe the sound. Everyone would agree that anything other than stock would sound better but, this was awesome! I hop on in and we take off down the road. I wasn't sure what to expect in the cabin. I have a king size, btw. We blaze on down the road and jump on the 5 HWY going north doing about 70-75, 2000rpm, and to my delight, no drone! As a matter of fact, there wasn't any ear piercing, brain scrambling drone through the any part of the power band.

It's satisfying when one of a company's main points of the product being sold is true... Awesome sound, no drone, and IMO sharp looks. I'm glad I didn't have to mess around with a bunch of different exhausts because frankly, I don't have that kind of money!

With that being said, I'm happy - no wait, thrilled, ecstatic, all-encompassingly (God bless Mitch Hedberg) happy I went with Zoomers Exhaust.

With out further ado I'll post some pics.

A few more couldn't hurt...

Also, because I know I'm going to be asked, I'm getting a video recorder from a friend of mine to post some sound samples from inside and outside the cab. I hope to be doing this tomorrow.

man I really want to run these mufflers, but I need two of them as I have a dual out setup

and Im not really willing to cut out my driver side pipe as it looks cool to me

I sooo wish they had a dual in dual out

so in your opinion are you gettig sound supression off the "turbine" tips also?

or does most of the sound supression occur inside the muffler?

nice review and pics by the way

Got mine installed too.

So to give some background, I was about to install the banks exhaust but was unsure because I didnt want it to be too loud or have any drone in the cab. Since the drone was one of my main concerns and zoomers advertises no drone I thought it would be worth a look.

I called Ron the day before and he said to stop by because he had some other people coming in for an install. I happened to show up right after HighDesertBum was about to leave. When I arrived I asked if I could ride with him and check out the sound. It was unbelievable...The sound was deep and throaty, but no drone, no resonance and sounds as quiet as stock when just cruising.

After hearing it I decided I wanted to get it installed too. Ron and Orange are great and did a great install. I think the exhaust is well worth the money for the great looks(IMO), performance, and most importantly no drone.

And finally, I know there were some other threads where people complained about the price and that the piping was not stainless, but with a lifetime warranty and no drone, it was well worth it.

I didnt go to zoomers expecting to get it installed that day so I didnt get any pics, but it looks like HighDesertBum got it covered

Since, I got it installed to i'll give you my opinion. I think the sound supression comes from a combination of both. Ron said he could make it a little bit louder with a bigger tip. The muffler has ceramic packing in it and the tip has stainless steel wool in it which both deaden the sound.

Two things I noticed that are different about this exhaust compared to others. It is longer than most exhausts and it has a piece of metal at the entrance that basically looks like a fan or propeller(but it is stationary and does not move) at the beginning of the pipe. The length might help absorb more sound and the propeller might stabalize the air to be less turbulent which would make it quieter.

Hey Chronic! Glad to hear you got one, lol. Damn, I couldn't remember for the life of me what you said your TT username was...

Any way, you can see the propeller in the top row of pics, second from the left.

Glad you're enjoying your sweet ride!

Yeah, it angles out the back; similar to the stock exhaust. Send Ron a PM and ask him. Not sure if he's checking this thread.

Our standard system comes only one way...if you want it out the back any local shop can cut our tail pipe and fab up something for you out the back. I'd leave it the way it is personally we've engineered the tail pipe to have the least amount of bends possible. It only has 3 total bends where as the stock tail pipe had 6 bends. More flow with less bends. Plus going out the back you'd have to add a bend and the tip might interfere with steep grades or trailer hitches... I attached a photo of the tail pipe for a closer look.

Can anyone host some video files for me? They are from inside my Titan with the Zoomers exhaust installed... I figured you've all heard from the outside enough times. There are 6 files ranging from 832KBs to 5.9MBs

Zoomers should be able to do that for you. You may have to email them separately though.

Hey Highdessertbum, do you have any comparisons of the banks vs. zoomers dyno's?
By the way, I was stationed at George AFB from 1985 to 1989 and My son was born in apple valley. I had a work trip in San Diego 3 summers ago and while there I drove up to check out the old stomping ground. I could not believe how barren the base looked. it was depressing because I loved it there. Apple valley still looked pretty close to the same but Victorville has grown like crazy.
