flowmaster 50 series or 70 series 3 chamber

Guys,

I have seen your comments on each of these. It seems that the 50 series SUV 3 chamber sounds good. But what about the 70 series 3 chamber. I want the good deep sound, but don't want an annoying drone at 60 mph. I have gone through this on my 92 SER and solved it with a regular pacesetter type system on that. Now, I want a good performance sound when I hit the pedal and decent highway sound also. Summit has these for 109.95

50 series SUV 3 chamber OR
70 series 3 chamber

THanks Chris

if you can hold off for a few days I'll try to figure out a way to record my system. I just had a custom dual side swept installed today with the 50 series. Man it sounds mean but it could be too much for some people. I originally asked him (shop owner) about having the 70 series installed because thats what the premade one from flowmaster includes. Tha owner it didnt sound as good as the 50 on the Titans. I said what the hell, go for it. This shop did a kick *** job. The even sanded down and repainted my rusty diff cover.

I will eventually get a cat back done. I had the Gibson swept side on the 04 and wished it a little louder. If I temporarily just went for sound, from this post I would pick the 50. Question: How much of a difference is there between a series 50 and a series 40 muffler? I also read that someone added just a Magnaflow muffler and it sounded great.

I have the 50 SUV series dual exhaust. Sounds great, nice deep rumble. Interior drone is no worse than stock in my opinion. Wish it was a little louder though. So if you are worried that the 50 series might be too loud.......don't, because it's not.

just ordered the 50 suv series this morning! should arrive sometime this afternoon and i will have it installed and i will give you my verdict as well. i've driven a titan with a banks kit installed several times so i'll use that as my point of reference for those of you concerned with overall noise comparison, drone, etc. i thought long and hard about this and after reading sammy's post on the 70 i really considered it but since i am only going with one pipe, my theory is the one pipe versus his dual exhaust would be like comparing a kick a$$ 12" sub to two 10" subs. it should all equal out or at least that what i theorize. soooo, ultimately i chose the 50 suv series because i loved the sound of the banks exhaust and i'm hoping the 50 can come close to being as deep!! my take in 6 or more hours!! i can't wait!!

hehe. I'm glad to help any way I can. I've gotten so much useful info from these boards I wanna be able to give back anytime I can. I say you just go with the 50 since you already have it. Worst case scenario if its too loud you have the shop swap in a 70. I cant say for sure how much of a difference there would be. I've only heard clips online. The 50 though has a real old school muscle car sound. I've already decided that I'm gonna add some sound deadner on the back wall of the cab to make it a little more civil for passengers on long rides. I've definitely noticed a firmer kick from a standing start.

I have to admit though I'm really enjoying the warm weather even more now. I keep making excuses to take "Tiny" out. I love rolling with the windows down, stereo pumping and the new exhaust makin sweet music. I wonder now what intake to get

BigT check out my clip , I have the 50 series SUV Exhaust Clip

Hope you dig, the drone is nothing really to worry about. The only time it's sorta obnoxious is when you're sneaking into the neighborhood at night trying not to wake the neighbors

Well as promised i am providing some cheesy pics and a short movie clip (quicktime) to show my newest and so far second favorite mod. i had the Flowmaster 50 SUV series installed today and all went well. of course this pretty much covers all you low-budget, bang for your buck kinda guys like myself. All i can say is DEEEEEPPP!!! it is a touch above mild with an extremely deep rumble that roars louder when the throttle is opened up!! i can say that it sounds much like an old school muscle car with a deep mellow rumble at idle. for those wondering, yes there is a very slight noticeable drone at around 1600-1900 rpms, unfortunately at cruising speed. so far i'm in love with it!! definitely turns the heads and grabs attention!! great thing about adding an exhaust to a Titan is not only does it bark but it bites like a rabid mongoose!! thanks to Dragonhead and Vshortt and Sammy Sandbag for the advice and info, and to anyone else i may have left off my thank you list... :smt006

here's the pics... sorry for the short video clip, but i promise some better ones!!!

i forgot to mention that it sounds just like the banks exhaust!! i've driven a banks equipped Titan several times!! anyheww, based on sound tone and level, it sounds just like a Banks exhaust kit, but a hell of a lot cheaper!! fyi...
