It's hard to really gauge from those manufacturer specs. What we're seeing a lot from users is that performance has sometimes been more and even sometimes significantly less. What a lot may say is...performance gains are going to kind of be the same throughout all those intakes.

I honestly would look into other features that may pertain more to "you".

- Ease of Install / Fitment
There have been some fitment issues with the Volant from some owners while others have mentioned they went on without a hitch. I've heard with the AEM that you have to remove the tire so I wasn't keen on that but heard it was still simple. I personally went with the K&N 77 b/c I heard it was one of the easiest to put on (especially someone who's not mechanically inclined...like me).

- Sound
Again, all about preference. People like that mellow whistle (AEM), aggressive tone (Volant), or just quiet (K&N 77). The same thing goes for exhaust preferences.

- Cost
This wasn't too much of an issue as it is for exhaust systems. These systems are all going to be in the $200-$300 range. But if you think about if 20-40 bucks saved can be used for other things such as an AT Grounding Kit, an intake recharge/cleaning kit, and...have you seen the GAS PRICES?...lol.

- Looks
Are you looking to dress up the engine compartment? The Volant & FIPK have a subtle look (all black). Airaid uses the factory tube so also doesn't stand out but the K&77 (polished) and AEM both are nice and shiny.

This is all just my honest opinion. I was in same shoes three months ago and have my own reasons on why I chose my intake. Whatever you choose I hope you have no regret, I have none. Good luck.

I've done some measuring of my Volant, since I'm looking at upgrading to a better filter and have turned my CAI into a hybrid using both Volant and oe parts. Plus, Chris w/ Mossy had incorrectly stated that the Volant tube is smaller than stock, so since I had both the oe and Volant tubes cut apart already, I measured them. Here's the Volant info:

Volant:

Filter: 5.5"B X 4.75"T X 8"H
Flange i.d./length = 3.5" X 1.5"L

Tube i.d. = 80 mm throughout
Tube Length = approx 25"

These measurements are from the Volant Ver3 which has the box and intake tube remolded for better fittment. I don't believe they changed any of the dimensions, as I had a Ver2 before, and don't see any diff in filter or intake tube size.

MY 77 series has a very agressive sound. maybe it is the combo with the borla but I heard a big difference when I added it versus just my Borla alone.

Sorry I don't have any measurements for the 77 series as I am metricaly impaired and don't have any calipers or such and do not wish to take it out as the alumionum tube can get scratched and the more you play with it the more likely it is to do.

This a very good project and thanks for the effort of trying to compile the stats as I know it was a tough choice picking my intake.
Here's a link to my review of the 77 series hope this helps any one looking at intakes.
