Exhaust pipe removal--muffler back

This may sound like a stupid question, but I am relatively new to modifying my truck. I have a Gibson single side swept exhaust and love the sound. But, I really like the look of the truck without tailpipes sticking out the back. Are there any pros or cons to removing the pipe from the muffler back?

You're going to get soot all over the underside of your chassis, it's going to be louder in the cab, smell slightly worse in the cab at stops, and possibly increase resonation. It would be a smarter move to simply cut the tips off and have a muffler shop re-weld them on later.

The exhaust fumes (carbon monoxide) may possible get into the passenger area causing mild to fatal outcomes if exposed for extended periods of time. Not a good picture.
