Fuel Crisis & Air intake

Hey guys

I want to add a fuel-intake/airfilter system to my truck. Dont know much about whats out there. I'm not ready to get the exhaust system at this time - but I thought i would start with the air-intake.
I have looked up some info and the 2 that stand out so far are the K&N 77 series intake and the Volant Premium. Any one with advise on these or intakes in general. Pros and Cons and what exhaust to combine with would help. If this has been addressed before please ignore and kindly attach the link. Also does a custom air-intake really save on gas? Is it wise to spend the $300 or so on that now than spend it at the gas pump for less than 100 gallons?

Thanks guys/gals

$3.00/gallon for a 28 gallon tank!!! OUTRAGEOUS - Gotta do something

I like my K&N FIPK gen 2 it has a little more of a power gain than the 77 does.

You should have a lot of responses to this question, Its really a personal preference. Pick one you like and have fun. Ebay is a pretty good place to find these items for sale from any manufacturer. Search suggestions:

Titan K&N
Titan Volant
Titan AEM
etc.................

I like my K&N 77. With that and my borla exhaust I am gettin 14.6mpg (overall in my last tank) 05 CC 4x4 w/Big tow at just about 2100 miles and I haven't been babying it (though I may now with gass prices)since the exhaust and intake. I can't complain with this as my 99 Suburban got 10-12 with its 5.7l
