Volant vs Nismo air intake

Has anyone compared the difference between the NISMO cold air intake and the Volant series 3? I know that the NISMO is about $250 plus shipping and I saw the hp and torque gain graph and they look good, but I don't remember seeing the latest price for tne Volant or the hp and torque gains. Can someone point me to the right post? I spent an hour searching and still couldn't find this info.

There is a "group buy" at CT if it ever pans out for the Ver3 for 243+shipping. You can pick them up from socalmotorsports for I think 5 bucks more. Volant doesnt have any dynos of the titan. Their website only has a FAQ section that gives a rough estimate in Hp gains for v-8s nothing specific to the titan. There isnt anything about torque. Im sure someone out there has run some type of dyno with a volant, I am interested in their gains. You might want to look at the aFe intake, Im leaning towards them right now with Nismo right behind (since im sick of waiting for the v3). Hope that helped a little. Later - Chris

The problem is Volant is not releasing the V3 until after the SEMA show, which is in November. You can get the Volant V2 which is the same except for cosmetic look on the lid. I've seen NISMO go as low as $225 + shipping on Ebay. I myself just ordered the AEM brute force that comes with the new dryflow filter (no oil needed) if you're worry about oil messing up the MAF.

Dryflow?!?! I have to get my head out of the sand and check this out. Nissan MAFs hate oiled filters...this sounds like the answer. Thanks for the post!!!

Go to AEM's site and you can watch a vid showing how to clean the dryflow filter. Just agitate it in a 5 gal bucket filled with water and their cleaning solution. I believe you repeat this procedure twice, and then just let it dry. Looks like a great idea, their graphs show excellent flow and filtration (down to 1 micron, I think).

The AEM special from performancenissanparts looks like the older version. The new one has a "D" on the end for dry flow, not the "P" like the older version. Just something to ask when you place the order. If it is the new one it is a great price.
