Arrow INTAKES--whistle or what?

can someone with knowlege of any of the various intakes tell me if they make an audible or pronounced 'whistle' or is it a rushing 'sucking' sound. i know they obviously make the cab noise louder but what is the 'louder' noise for each one?

thanks.

Depending on the kit, they will make one or both sounds. For instance the Volant which uses an enclosed box, doesn't whistle, but you do hear an increased suction sound under heavy throttle. Other kits like the K&N, AEM and others can have a whistle under light throttle, and the suction noise under heavier throttle.

BTW, the Volant does whistle if you have the Poweraid TBS, although it's not too loud with the enclosed box.

My AEM does whistle under light throttle like stated above. At first it was a bit annoying, but I have gotten used to it now. Under heavy throttle you can really hear it open up. I love that sound!

Yeah, I remember the K&N FIPK I had on the old Tundra. Sounded kinda cool at first, but really got to be annoying after a while.
