Vortech kit 150-160HP 9 psi

I seen this at C.T.

The pics from SEMA are in, and a Vortech kit with an aftercooler is in there. The kit should be good for about 150-160HP at the crank on a stock engine at 9psi with the aftercooler. Vortech kits generally run around 4k-5k, so this is good news if they do produce it!

With an exhaust it'll probably push the Endurance to about 500HP or 400rwhp. That's not bad.

Should we be hearing about this kit soon, I hope

Sounds good. I'm in if they produce it!

old news

is this the same kit vortech showed at last years sema?. When i talked to a guy at vortech they said they are not producing this kit, they said it is a joint deal with nismo and you will only be able to get it through NIsmo, AND considering it took Nismo almost two years to come out with an intake i wouldnt count on seeing it anytime soon. Are you saying they are releasing this year at 2005 sema?? Also what is CT?? My 2 cents

I believe CT is Club Titan which is a nice forum with some good information. I also believe you may be right about the time line for NISMO parts as sad as that may be but at least it may be out in 2007 and that is good news so keep that fine intelligence info comming.

I posted that. I will talk to Vortech again and see if it will happen or when. If NISMO has it, maybe they will include some sort of tuning software with it.

Hopefully, ATI will produce one (though, I hope a vendor or some tuner takes an ATI head unit and produces a FMIC'ed kit, because let's be honest, ATI kits are not the greatest upon release) and then we'll see pretty big numbers out of a Titan if we ever get some sort of tuning software.

Actually, Vortech head units are good too. For a custom setup, we'd just need an intercooler, IC piping, 8-rib pulley system/bracketry, injectors/fuel booster, and an ATI/Vortech kit. 600BHP (480rwhp) wouldn't be hard at 10-12psi with headers and exhaust on the Titan, but I don't know the limits of the Endurance.

Any tuners out there listening?

Btw, I did talk to Kooks and Quicktime Performance (QTP) about longtube headers, and Kooks can do a custom setup if I give them my truck but nothing mass-produced. QTP said they were going to look into over the winter, so maybe that's a good sign. Both make high-quality 304SS headers.

Now, if we can get some DOHC cam kits, those 600HP levels can be had at 8-9psi.

Exactly. The Endurance is a very good platform to start with it would seem, so we should all request and inquiry into the status of parts from our favorite manufacturers.

I've been able to find that it has a forged crank and coated pistons, but I don't know if they are forged as well. I have no idea on the rods, but if they are billet and the pistons are forged, we have a Supra/Mustang Cobra on our hands. If the crank is forged, I suspect the other components are as well, since the crankshaft is far more expensive than a set of rods or pistons, so why cut corners on less expensive components?

A mass-produced forged engine that will take a lot of boost will make this engine platform a true aftermarket gem. Look at the Cobra and Supra's aftermarket. Bolt on a new supercharger or turbo and make a load of power for not a lot, or simple BPU upgrades for either. I don't know why the Titan would have an all-forged engine, but if it does, we will be having some fun in the coming months and years as tuners begin to explore it.

wow, forged crank. HA, eat that Hemi's... Do they have forged internals too? lol its all good. I'm hoping this Vortech kits kills the Eaton/Stillen. I know for alot of vehicles the Vortech's are nicer than alot of others. For my little car they are only a little behind turbo's.

I'm still gonna wait for a turbo kit. I want an increase in efficiency, power, and fuel economy instead of just power. I'm still stuck on that STS kit, it looks really cool and without the need for exhaust manifolds. A conventional twin turbo kit would be cool too though....
Although if Nismo came out with one that would retain the FACTORY warranty, then I would consider a supercharger. I'm still trying to figure out how much fuel economy you lose with a supercharger....... anybody know? I would guess because of the extra fuel being introduced in the engine with extra injectors, etc you would lose something.
Also, for some reason I like the look of Roots type superchargers instead of the conventional centrifugal type. The big chrome stillen one is way pertier than this one but you pay for it I guess.

Wow a Turbo Kit? That'd be the one to get. The supercharger I believe will require the use of higher octane fuel, as well as suck up more gas, and would probably kick in around late 3 grand. A turbo kit sounds nice if they make one, if it's Nismo, even better!

The current crappy Stillen one is under 100 HP and almost $6 grand.

actually, a supercharger has boost right off idle and the turbo will need spool up time since it is running off of exhaust gas.
