CAI's and sand

I just installed a Nismo CAI on my truck today and it drives great and looks even better. I am slightly concerned however after a buddy of mine brought up the fact that fine sand particles may be able to pass through the filter. I drive on a very sandy beach very often and want to know if this could be a problem. I plan on checking it regularly and cleaning if need be. What do you guys think?

no filter can really get every single little particle. Its a matter of fact that some filters, over time will have gaps large enough to let fine sand particles go through. Its entirely dependent upon the user on how much he/she changes the filter with new ones.

I've got a 71 Chevy Nova with a velosity stack and NO FILTER that I've owned for years and have put about 80,000 miles on it. The mildly hot 350 seems to enjoy a little fiber in it's diet.....and donuts at the beach is it's specialty.

this is the main consern about CAIs here in saudi arabia because of the desert sand.

people here use WEMEN SOCKS (the very thin ones) to cover the CAI filter, however, i couldent find one that fit my AEM CAI filter, will post picture as soon as i find anything that fits.

beach sand -i think- is thicker than desert sand

Yea the worst one is desert dust, its not like sand but like realy small particles of dirt/earth the worst is on new dirt roads in the desert...

Here in the Sonoran Desert, if you do any prerunning your car will eat too much dirt...
