Titan Black Box Tuning

I have developed electronics (black box) to adjust fuel and gain a few degrees of timing on the titan. It installs very simply to 3 wires
Ignition blue wire white tracer, Ground at MAF Sensor,MAF output to ECU
and Input to Black Box. I can load 3 dimensional fuel curve maps to match
your hardware mods including larger injectors on supercharge/turbo applications! Our shop mainly specializes in High Performance Tuning of
G.M. products Professional Auto Techniques proautotech.com! A GTO
customer that also has a Titan convinced me into trying to do something
about not being able to tune the rich mixture from the factory under
Power Enrichment! Our testing on the Dynojet got approx 35 Ft lbs.
of torque down low in the rpm range. and 18 HP on the top. We moved the
PE Air/Fuel ratio from 11.4:1 to 12.8:1 at peak torque and 13.1:1 at peak
HP. Doing fuel economy testing now Hoping for some improvement there
too! The box will have detailed instructions - easy install and come pre loaded with your tune for your mods! Pricing will be around $419.00

(tuned for your Mods)

So it's basically just another one of those "MAF trick" sensors (wires with a resistor) that are all over eBay? 35tq and 18hp from adjusting the MAF... I don't think so.

I'm all ears!!!. Since you have developed this "electronics" yourself, help me understand that this is not the more expensive version of snake oil.

i'd be interested in purchasing something like this if it was anything like the Power Commander (for motorcycles), i'd be interested. you can program it with "maps" optimized for different mods. people can add mods, dyno tune their vehicle, and make those maps available for other users. i noticed the difference in my Honda CBR 954RR after i put an exhaust on. throttle was smoother and my buttdyno said there was more oomph.

Sounds like some sort of interceptor that does MAF manipulation, which probably would gain you more than those cheapo IAT resistors on ebay.

proautoman....does this box actually contain a cpu that you flash the maps to, or does it just use various resistors to fool the ecm into using various stock maps? Thanks.

Let's see some dyno tests with various int/exh mods.

It has an ecu (computer) that you load actual fuel curve maps to.
It looks at rpm and mass air fow rate and provides three demensional
maps- Will be doing another Titan on the dyno this week! Hoping for
same great results! We are doing an AFE CAI plus Flowmaster Cat Back
along with tuning- parts should be here later this week! Another benefit
is if your mods such as headers wreck the Fuel Trims we can scale them
as close to perfect 0.0 as possible. I beleive the Nissan CPU works
similar to G.M. - in that when fuel trims in close loop get to far from
home or perfect (0.0) the computer will start adaptive fuel changes to OPen Loop Power Enrichment and reduce your power or set codes for the Fuel Trims
being too far from home.

No tricks- an actual computer that is flashed with maps- it takes in RPM and MAF voltage SIgnal -the signal is modified LEANED OR RICHENED in one tenth of a percent increments Where ever you want to in the entire load cells!

It is exactly like the dynojet commander cpu- However the software is proprietary
and the file is locked -- The box would have to be returned and reprogrammed as
your mods increased-- However we offer free upgrades for 6 mos.

Interesting, but my Titan was tuned perfectly from the factory (12.8 at peak tq and 13.0 at peak hp). However, I am not sure where it now with the few mods.

I am familiar with GM tuning, since I have been using HP tuners for the past year on my LS1.

I am definately interested to see what gains you guys come up with.

However, the user will also need to purchase a scanner to log Ltrims, KR, and such.

I would be very interested in seeing the result with the AFE and FM exh, since I have the FM kit (swapped muff w/ Borla, though) and I'm swapping out the Volant with the AFE this week.

Any chance this could be made with user-switchable maps to accomodate both regular and premium fuels? The more options you can give us, the better.

Also, if you can figure a work-around solution to allow the TB to open 100%, you'd be our hero. Currently, because of the drive-by-wire, the ecm will not allow the throttle actuator to stroke 100%. Those of us that have been logging our throttle position with scan tools, haven't seen it go open more than 80%. Mine, personally, hasn't gone past 78%, even during a wot 1/4 mile run. Technosquare will be addressing this in their ecm reflash, same as they did with the 350Z, but that requires cracking Nissans tough code. Even Unichip has not addressed this issue with their piggy back ecu release.

Thanks!

I am definately interested to see the gains!

ECM controls the throttle control motor to make the throttle valve opening
angle properly in response to driving condition, (but not my driving condition) can you fix this? When I stomp on it, I would like it to open and stay open until I let off.
