? about removing rear cat

So, if you remove the rear cat, or hollow it out, and down the road some nice headers come out, then what? One would think nice headers would mean you loose the main cat, leaving you with nothing. If you left the rear cat would that be enough to pass emisions? What would be better, nice headers and the rear cat or stock headers and no rear?

The rear cats alone will not be enough to pass the emissions for two reasons: 1) they are at a wrong location to satisfy the CPU. They are located downstream to the secondary O2 sensors and 2) the honeycomb catalyst is too small to do the job. They are only about 2 inches thick.

Their removal is insignificant to the vehicle CPU and reasons for their presence in a 4x4 Titan but not the 4x2 had been a hot debatable topic here at TT.

If there was a LT style header to come out you would need a whole new exhaust set up from the header back.
