Does this Brute Force intake system have a cover? I like how the Volant cover looks on the Titan. I don't like having to look at the filter just sitting out in the engine compartment.

Ok...so taking that into account if I am installing a dual Magnaflow exhaust with each pipe exiting from the rear behind the tires as opposed to going straight back, then will it not be any louder? I didnt know the 07 was a 2 going into one. I always thought it sounded loud for just one tip at the end. I guess it is not always all about what you see at the end but what is going on up by the muffler? Sorry I am a novice at all of this. Basically, what I was wanting to accomplish was more HP...better performance overall, and a louder exhaust out of my truck that the OEM. Am I wasting my time if I think I will get this out of doing this type of mod for the 07?
I'm sure you will get an exhaust that is louder than stock. I would absolutley put in a different intake...AEM, volant, Dub, etc. It will also change the exhaust sound... and add HP.

No, the AEM does not have a cover. The Volant and AFE do.
Hey Guys, Thanks for all the info, I finally decided to go with the teh Volant Gen 3 and a fully welded magnaflow dual cat back with 2-1/2" M3 tips that have the "resonator" baffle? (bunch of small holes throughout the interior of the body instead of a straight tip, less raspy sound). Had it installed w/ front windows to match OEM for $900.00 OTD from my buddy's shop. For Goomba and Kanko:,.....I like the sound and the final look of the Volant, and I will be installing a TBS soon for it all to work together, then a grounding kit I was reading about here. My impression of the before and after? OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! I went out this morning, (T-Day) to let my baby enjoy her new lungs and help the ECM learn a little, and WOW,....Definite improvement over the stock intake and exhaust. I'm not trying to shave seconds at the track, but cheese and rice it's nice. The sound is very quiet at low speed and idle, and I definitely made people look @ WOT, it grouls quite nicely, (that's what my wife called it). I have an 06 CC SE 4x4 with 175 miles on her, (she's a baby) and I'm really happy with the results of this install. Thanks again for the guys who took the time and $$$ to do all tests / mods / evaluations. I, for one, as a new Titan owner and former "monster truck" owner,..salute you guys. Now, back to the edjamucashunel reading. Peace and Hair Grease, Steve
Is there much difference in the 2 K & N products and does anyone know what the gas mileage difference is? I drive a 2006 Titan and I was told that for basic every day driving that the K & N system is the best bang for the buck.
I added the Air raid TBS and removed the air passifier screen, installed pro comps tractiopn bars,...what a noticeable low end difference!!! all that and NO whistle to boot!!! The volant must really do a good job at keeping the noise down, cuz I don't hear any whistle at all, just a loud volume of air @ 1/2 - WOT. Cruising around town she just grumbles and the trac bars have made her handle SO MUCH BETTER!!! Just thought I'd update my last post,...
i have the Nismo CAI, w/out the cover. whats the up/downside of cover/no cover? THX
Usually those without a cover have sides that go higher and a rubber strip to seal it against the hood, so in a away they have the same effect as a box with a cover.
Volant Ram Air Scoop - for Volant 3 CAI -- has anyone added the scoop?

Yes. What do you need to know?

I got the fram boost. I love it, love the dry filter, you only have to clean it every 3 to 6 months. (I do it every 2, but thats just me) Sounds great, and i can feel a considerable difference in power. Good job FRAM!
Did you notice / test any difference with it vs. w/o it? also, the only pictures I've seen of it, it looked like it had a pretty small diameter - about what is the diameter of it's smallest point? I've never seen a picture of it installed - hard to get the perspective on it.
The reason I am asking, I was thinking that making a DIY scoop for other CAI's would be able to do as much. Someone had a post about experimenting with that idea.

Well I did it. I installed my K&N FIPK Generation II and it sounds AWESOME. So i cranked the truck up, and I was like "ehhh doesnt sound any different". So I took her around the block and gassed it and sure enough it sounded like a damn race car. Had a meaner sound to it, and I loved it. I didnt really notice a different sound though until I get close to around 2000 RPM though. Is this normal? I double checked all my hoses and clamps as reccomended. There was no whistling sound or rattling anything like that so I guess everything is secure and seated properly. I wish I had some before and after sound clips though just so you could see how different it sounds, but for those of you who have already installed a CAI other than stock can already testify and relate to what I am talking about. Thanks for all the help guys. I could not have done it without ya.
One quick question though for those who don't like oiled filters such as this one. Why would a Nissan dealership such as courtesyparts.com reccomend this intake above all others if problems with the oxygen sensor getting oily residue on it are supposedly so prominent? It would seem to me that user error is the biggest cause of problems such as this. Like oiling the filter too much or too often. My thinking would be that oil and the filter would not only help repel dirt but also moisture and water as well. I like the ideaology behind the oiled filter better.
