HAY, WELCOME TO THE BAND WAGON. IF YOU REALLY WANT BETTER GAS MILEAGE YOU SHOULD REALLY CHANGE TO A DIFF CAR. I BELIEVE THAT ALL THE GADGETS AND CLAIMS OUT THERE AT KRAGENS, AUTOZONE, PEPBOYS, ETC... THAT BOOST GAS MILEAGE IS ALL B.S. I MEAN THINK ABOUT IT, WHY WOULDN'T ENGINEERS FOR AUTO MANUFACTURER'S (NISSAN, HONDA, GM, ETC..) THOUGHT OF THIS? THEY ARE THE MANUFACTURER OF CARS!!!! IF THOSE CLAIMS REALLY WORK THEN WHY DON'T NISSAN, HONDA, GM OR ANY AUTO MAKER HIRE THEM/HER/HIM?????????

ESPECIALLY VEHICLES NOWADAYS WHERE STRINGENT LAWS ARE TAKEN INTO PLACE TO MAKE MODERN VEHICLES GAIN MORE MILEAGE. THESE DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT A SMALL LITTLE COMPANY IN WHO KNOWS WHERE CAN ENGINEER A PART THAT IS SO AFFECTIVE THAT NISSAN DID NOT HIRE HIM/HER/THEM????

OPINIONS OR THOUGHTS OR ARGUMENTS? LOL

Don't really have an argument but I believe that the car manufacturers do not put on the best parts due to trying to keep the cost down. This in turn does not give the car/truck the best performance. The job of the manufacturer is to build the cars but not necessarily make each car/truck perform at it's peak. Just my opinion.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

The only CAIs that im familar with are the ones for the S2000. There was

extencive research done on this subject for several years. Hp gains were

minimal at best 1-2, however we did find that you did avoid heat soak

and did get a better throttle response, thats about it. We had many

dyno numbers to back this up before and after. Now this is not to say

that the Titan V8 is not the same case , these are 2 totaly different

engines. Just food for thought.

Yeah we cant mess with our ECUs, i also didnt mention that the S2000

comes from the factory with almost every eek of Hp possible already

ontap. Some people have along with a header and different exhaust

system combined with a CIA have gotten 15 to 20 Hp gains. I have

no doubt of your gains since you can adjust your ECU. As for me

i have a radaitor plate thats helps with heat soak since i live in

the deep south. I would be intrested in hearing if there is a CAI

that would help with gas mileage for the Titan.........or is this

something that is not worth the cost. Most of my driving is highway

miles.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

i have done cai in a few cars/truck if you look at all these cai they are all basically the same shape size and filter i think they help but not at the claims they all make 20-30 hp gains come on no way 5-10 maybe how can one say they make like 15 hp more than the other like i said there all almost the same exact shape i have had the cheaper ones and the most expensive and could not tell any difference i would base your choice on filter cleaning i like the aem just for the filter easy to clean no oil, the ones that you have to oil are a pain in the butt if you use too much oil it will restrict some air flow,i only oiled mine like evey three cleaning's and it worked better....just my .02

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I have one showing up next week. I'll post my impression of it after it is installed and the ECU has reset itself.

Talking Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I installed the Injen intake and does it make my truck haul A$$. I do recommend that you wrap your tubes. I've use wraps from designengineering.com or Thermotec.com. Understand that plastic and metal still take some of the engine heat. I have installed a ambient temp meter in my tube to test the difference in degrees from when the day is humid to when it hits 100 plus degress in the summer, to winter. The wrap has lower the air entering the tube up 30-45 degrees lower. Remember that it will vary depending your location.
