Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

How about the INJEN power flow cold air intake? I've been looking at it but have not seen any reviews fron titan owners. Lookig for more hpwer and better fuel milage. Have flow masters on. What else can help?

The two don't go together. Cold Air Intakes may provide slightly better fuel economy if you can keep your foot out of it, but typically mileage gets worse.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on an intake, only to find out that the Fram Boost is no longer available.

I checked out the AEM, but $336 seems a bit much to me.

Is this typical pricing? I was thinking intakes are around $260.

If $300+ dollars is the norm, I might as well go all out and get the best. So which intake has the best combination of performance and low noise? The intake has to be the dry filter type (no oiling).

Later, I'm gettting UpRev and maybe a cat back.

I've also been looking at the AEM Brute Force. The best deal I found was at ultrarev.com Just add the AEM to your cart, then in the coupon box type sale. The price should be $246.32 + shpg. Shipping to my zip is around $20.00.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I have the K&N Gen II FIPK on mine, I usually don't mind the noise, but I am going to assume the motor noise I am hearing is because it is "open" housing as compaired to the Volant setup. Can anyone confirm this for me? I have the Volant on my 06 GTO and cannot hear the "motor" noise like I can on the Titan. I also have the Calmini cat-back exhaust, but was able to install the exhaust, test drive, then the FIPK & test drive. The noise level increased a lot with the FIPK.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

does anyone know for a fact that the Injen PowerFlow system actually give hp and torque that it says it does or is this just a bull? Also has anyone installed a Stillen supercharger and if so what were the results and would you recommend it?

Are you talking about the insulation found at big box stores that have fiberglass + a aluminum looking outer coating used for heat pipes? I can't imagine the standard foam insulation or reflectix standing up to the heat.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Hey,
Just picked up my 2008.5 Titan SE 4x4 today. It's got 51 miles on it so far.....yep, it's a cherry. Friends say I'm crazy, esp with gas prices hovering around $3.60/gallon here in Cali....OH WELL! In any case, was wondering if intake systems will help increase gas mileage as well? Looking to get a K&N filter this week. Anything else to help stretch its range? I don't care too much, but if it'll save me a few bucks as well as the life of my 5.6, I'll do it.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

The first step in upgrading your car's performance is to replace the restrictive stock air box with a STILLEN Hi-Flow Intake.

Additional air flow increases the engine's efficiency and power output by increasing the quantity of the air/fuel ratio. The STILLEN Hi-Flow consists of a either a precision machined ring and a gauze element (cleanable) filter or the newer K&N cone filters which incorporate a velocity stack which uses the venturi effect to accelerate air intake speed.

Power and throttle response will improve throughout the entire RPM range. Your best dollar-per-horsepower investment by far! Most people find the authoritative note of the intake pleasing, but note that increased noise levels will result.

Most STILLEN Hi-Flow Intakes are CARB Approved, while others are currently CARB Pending, and may not be 50 state legal until approved. Clean your filter regularly for best results.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

For sure do the CAI and Exhaust.

STILLEN is known worldwide for one thing and that's pure performance. Their exhaust systems have proven year after year to add improved acceleration along with increased power. STILLEN Exhaust systems are designed, engineered and manufactured to the most stringent quality measures and are tested here in house on our dyno on a vehicle by vehicle basis. The STILLEN Exhaust comes in two options: Single Side or Dual Straight. Add a throaty tone along with increased performance to your vehicle today

Sounds like you're reading from the back of the box. And what's with Stillen in all CAPS? If you intend to sell merchandise here why not become a site supporter?

I have the Injen and it works well.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Just put the K&N FIPK in last week. Took less than an hour. The truck drives totally normal until you give it some juice, then around 3000 RPM, it starts to growl....nice.

I also noted my highway mileage went from about 15 to 17.5. I drive lots of miles for work and always keep up with that kind of thing.

Only complaint is a whine at about 1800 RPM, but crusing on the highway there is no extra noise until you get to pass somebody....then grrrrrrrrr.

Cost 217 shipped from www.autoanything.com

2* timing advance + FIPK= more gooder truck.
