Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

just to let know i love my volant cai.when i purchased my titan i noticed it downshifted prematurely.after the intake less downshift more pull .gas sticks around longer too.i had to seal the top cover or it would make lots of noise.after i sealed it got back some bottom end .make sure it dont leak aka whistle and let r eat!! got it on ebay for $259 to my door 96743.

Ok, I ordered the AFM Stage 2, it arrived today, and installed it after work.. took about 30 mintues.

Ran the truck, around 2500 RPM with foot in it, sounds like a tin can rattling on the left side. made some adjustments to the "lid" of the intake. improved a little, but i think it's rattling the plastic in the wheel well. Anyone else notice this?

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Feedback time...why are the AEM Brute Force and Volant so dominant in the voting? Fill in the Newbie from Alaska (Yes I can read but ADD prohibits me from reading 17 pages at a time...LOL)

I'm thinking because of $$.

Also, jury still out on my AFM. seems the '08 stock intake is almost as good as the bolt ons.

the Stock Tube that i replaced with the AFM stage 2 looked identical to the factory one i took off.

the AFM doesn't feel much different, in performance, but I hear a difference and it sounds like it's rattling around 3000rpm

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

a lot of people go with the AEM (like me) because of the dry filter...some people dont want to deal with oiling up a filter and possibly over oiling it....but they all work good....my AEM is great, but i would really like to try an S&B cause i heard they are great on FFV titans

dangerous,
The reason it looks like the factory one is because it's very efficient to begin with. In fact I asked AirRaid if they offered a Modular Intake Tube replacement for the Titan and they said No. Their testing revealed "no measurable increase in efficiency over stock."

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

So is the Injen intake really that big of improvement over the others? Anyone have any solid eveidence of this gain?

I just purchased a AEM intake but I will return it or sell it if the Injen is that muh better. Acording to there website they have dyno proven results of 10rwhp peak. which if you factor in the 20% drivetrain loss for the auto tranny that would almost equal 28HP.
