Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I picked up a Nismo intake from the dealer. I work for another local dealer and they gave me a decent discount. It retails for $300 and I paid $225. I'm very happy with it but I have nothing to compare it to. It defintiely gives a noticeable boost and sounds nice also.

Not much of a discount, they're all over Ebay for about $220 - $240.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Does anyone know if an air intake will void your factory warranty?

Thanks in advance

No it will not void your warranty. Adding bolt-ons like an exhuast, intake, larger rotors, wheels, chips. Little upgrades won't void the warranty.

Good choice, I was gonna go for one but I was concerned about my MAF sensor which gets damaged overtime with the oil intakes. Thats why I switched my mind to the AEM Brute Force dryflow. Remember to show us pics of the install! It helps all the newbies out too that want to upgrade.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I have a question for the AEM bruteforce users out there. How does the dryfilter hold up to dirt, dust, desert type of driving?

Hey Sammy....

Just wondering if your going to add the FramBoost to the list. I know it's basically the same as the AEM but it does look a little different compared to the AEM. You could get a lot of info from LANDMAN for the write-up and I could up load an image?

I really like mine!

Sure thing. I'll try to get around to it shortly, remind me if it's not up in a couple days. Any good photos and links to reviews are appreciated.

Just looking at the filters design, it looks like it can hold up very well against rough conditions. I read an article about AEM developing the product. (I think it was a tuner Magazine) but they sent the filter to a lab that acctually trials the filters. They tested the filter in about several days but the conditions were worse that you could imagine. At the end of the test, the filiter was literally covered with dirt, dust, sand, and all they did was wash the filter, let it dry, and it looked just about the same it did before it was tested...just USED though. Then slapped it back on for more testing. AEM did their homework though. If it was a K&N, I think you would of ran out of oil after the first day of testing and ruined the MAF sensor. My thoughts though...just giviing you a heads up.

Yes, I've got the Fram Boost and I love it. I also did a 2 degree timing advance. The Fram Boost is great by itself, but I also recommend the advance. It brings more tourqe to the low end and seems to smooth out the entire power band.

Where did you get your timing advanced? Or did you do it yourself?
The more I read, the more I am thinking about pulling out my K&N drop in and putting the stock filter back in. I am thinking about purchasing a AEM intake this weekend though...
