Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Hey everybody! I just purchased a used Volant 3 system for my 06 titan, but I do not have the instructions, does anyone happen to still have them, and could you possibly scan them and email them to me, please, just PM me. It seems pretty basic, but I just don't want to mess something up. I can't find them online anywhere. Thanks!

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Hello fellow Titan owners. I have been lurking about here on Titan Talk for a couple months now. Thank you everyone for all the info. I have an Injen CAI on the way right now. I'm hoping to gain an extra mile per gallon along with the extra power. I'll post my seat of the pants impression once it's installed and I'm sure the ECU has learned to compensate for the CAI.

I ordered my Injen CAI through Stillen for a total of $414.40. Great customer service BTW.

Has anyone experienced problems with the MAF and the oil based CAI's?

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

JUST added the AEM brute force....it was a harder install than most of my vehicles aftermarket intakes. It has made the titan respond quicker It did seem to cause the dual exhaust to be quiter, however the sound from under the hood is BAD ***.....

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I installed my Injen CAI yesterday. It really doesn't get much easier if you ask me. I unpacked all the parts and put them together in the house just so the silcone tubing would be slightly stretched to ease install on the Titan. I removed the stock air intake and filter box in less than 10 minutes. I had the Injen CAI completely installed 30 minutes later.

I started the truck and heard zero difference at idle. This is good. I rev the engine andat about 2400 RPM you get that race car rasp. It sounds sweet.

I decided to do an ECU reset and go for a test ride. I must say I am impressed. If you drive the truck easy the intake is undetectable and the truck seems to have more grunt. Cruise up to 75 MPH and it sounds stock. Now, step a little harder on the gas pedal and look out, there is a Nascar engine in your engine bay. My wife actually like the sound and because she drives it more than me(work van), that's a good thing.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Thanks for the feedback loosenut. Did you notice any loss of grunt down low off the line?

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

This is the only mod I have done to my Titan. According to my seat of the pants dyno, it did not lose any detectable low end grunt off the line.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

The less restrictive air flow of a modified intake in combination with less restrictive exhaust has provided a fantastic improvement in overall performance (plus it sounds great) for my titan. Here's a previous thread if anyone is interested in saving some $$$. Also, a drop-in K&N panel filter hasn't caused me any MAF sensor issues. No problems 35K miles later, except for some disgruntled hemi drivers in my area!!

This intake system is waterproof & only uses ambient temp air. PM me with ant questions.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

Hey has anyone had the AEM / Poweraid throttle body spacer combo installed on their truck? I put both on mine and the fit just seems too tight, and the filter is rubbing on the isolation box surrounding the filter. I'm inclined to run it 'till something goes wrong, but i didn't know if one of y'all had a fix for the rub.

Re: Air Intake Systems [list and poll]

I've got the Volant Gen3 CAI and the AutoExtreme TBS. I can hear the TBS whistle only when I have the windows down. Otherwise, I hear the whoosh of air getting sucked into the box. Great sound on top of my exhaust and great improvement HP wise. Definitely gets going much quicker. It now takes less throttle than it used to to get moving faster than everyone else. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a little more get up and go than you already have.

Nope, but the oil will eventually build up on the sensor and cause long term damage...which means you'll have to replace it. Yeah, its sucks huh?
