so if you decided to put the injen intake on w/ oiled filter, should you upgrade your MAF sensors or will they still get damaged if you over oil. and can this problem be avoided by not over-oiling and following the given instructions?? thanks
has anyone here ver used one of these
the AIR MAX .... it looks cool but i wonder if it really works also do yall think its a total seal from the hot engine air i cant really tell form the pics.
I tend to not trust any product that doesn't have figures to back up their claims. The site only shows a small dyno graph that's obviously made up with a couple arcs drawn on a graph image. Not to say this product wouldn't produce, but at least some mfg's have some sort of proof to go along with it.

guys I think this horse has been beat to death. this has been argued over numerous threads, just do a search for it. when it comes down to it, no one has produced proof that any of the latest oil filters cause MAF sensor problems, and it really is quite unlikely that they would unless you completely ignore the instructions for oiling the filter. K&N and others would be bankrupt from lawsuits if they really caused problems. time for this myth to DIE!
I had a K&N drop in on my ranger and when I'd take it out on the interstate it would shift down all the time on some tiny hills that a civic could make up. It got to the point where once it would shift down it would stay in that gear until I stoped and shut off my truck. I took it into a transmittion place and the first thing he did was clean my MAF sensor. He said some of the oil from the filter built up on the sensor and was causing the ECU to work harder then it needed. It worked great ever since. So does it cause damage? Not really other then getting some horrible gas mileage. But does it cause problems? Yes.
Also, it wasn't like it had oil all over the sensor. What happens is the sensor gets some residue on it and lent/dust builds up on the wires running accross the sensor.
I've got the Nismo intake along with the Banks Monster Exhaust on my baby. They work well together and I love it. Great sound, improved throttle response and overall grunt. Next up......ripping out the ECU and sending it to JET Performance.
Ok question...I have a 2007 SE. Maybe it is just an optical illusion or something but the stock CAI on the 07's looks larger than previous years. I know also that the 07 has the 317 HP, but WHERE is that additional HP allocated from? Did they make an upgrade on the CAI for the 07 or did Nissan actually do some mods to the inner workings of the engine itself? So my thinking is that "hey...if they DID upgrade the CAI is it even worth my time to go out and spend the money for a different more reputable CAI?" I am not mechanically inclined but the overall benefit I guess that a CAI mod provides is just more air going into the engine providing more fuel economy and more HP because it is less restrictive. But is it less restrictive because of the size of the stock CAI that is put in there or what? Someone school me on this because as far as the 07's go I am having doubts as to if changing the CAI will actually make any difference or not.

I also have an '07. After much research I have determined the increase in HP is from the OEM exhaust as it is a 2 into one on the 07. The 06's have a "Y " pipe into the muffler that the 07 does not have. This reduces the backpressure some and consequently raises the HP but lowers the torque. I have not looked closely at an 06's airbox, but I think it is the same on the "07.

Ok...so taking that into account if I am installing a dual Magnaflow exhaust with each pipe exiting from the rear behind the tires as opposed to going straight back, then will it not be any louder? I didnt know the 07 was a 2 going into one. I always thought it sounded loud for just one tip at the end. I guess it is not always all about what you see at the end but what is going on up by the muffler? Sorry I am a novice at all of this. Basically, what I was wanting to accomplish was more HP...better performance overall, and a louder exhaust out of my truck that the OEM. Am I wasting my time if I think I will get this out of doing this type of mod for the 07?

I noticed their original dyno and press release regarding the Titan Injen Powerflow are no longer available, and neither is any other information on their website. Strange......
