You certainly could do it yourself, but to properly tune it you need a dyno and the correct instruments. You'll be leaving a lot of HP behind if you just pop it in and go. I would find a good SC installer near me and talk to them about having the install done. Doing it yourself also voids the warranty, which would be nice to have.
Got Titan says the instructions are VERY detailed with tons of pics. It's truly a bolt-on install....no drilling or relocation of components, etc. Seems like Stillen designed this with the DIYer in mind. The programming is via a pre-flashed piggy-back, so I'm not sure if just any shop could tweak the ign/fuel maps or not. I wonder who's piggy-back they used, and if the software is proprietary/locked.

Do you get the warranty? If I'm paying a guy $75 an hour to do it, I would pay $900 to have it done in 2 days, warrantied, and not have any skuffed knuckles, etc. That would be worth it too me.

I just asked got_titan about the warranty at the other site, haven't heard back yet....I'm guessing if you DIY, you only get the warranty on the SC components. I guess it comes down to $$, for some. Yeah, in the big picture, $900-$1000 would be worth it to have someone install it and have the motor warranty (another $250 ?), but that's a lot of mula to pay someone if you could do it yourself. I think Stillen says it's about a 12 hr install...assuming no snags.
