A way to pay for DYNO's??????

Gents:

It seems often that many of us see a mod or trick with our engines/trucks and wonder what are the #'s / gains? I prefer dyno's too, but also don't desire to pay for it.

What I propose is that in some fashion we work together to "pay" someone willing to offset the cost. For example: Let's say I had a new chip installed and I "felt" it had great gains. Now if I was able to get say 15 guys to send me $10, or 30 guys to send $5, then that would offset my reluctance to pay for a dyno.

There are obvious catches, how do you control who and how many people pay, who is honest upon receipt, how do we ensure they post their results in a timely fashion, etc?

Perhaps the key is a moderator driven tally. I mean we don't want 100 people to send me $10, although I wouldn't mind it. As you can guess I am just proposing an option. Furthermore who is willing, and who is "good enough" by interest in their mods according to TT members, to warrant exclusive rights to receive the money. The way I see it, most of us are mature, and financially stable enough to validate a loss of $5-10 if this goes south. I personally will not take this coordination on, but am willing to spend the money to donate to seeing proven results.

YOU guys decide. Just a thought.

Don't think this is happening! That's like saying "How about everyone send me $2 and I'll get the Stillen supercharger and I'll get it dynoed and post the results in a very timely manner!" Good luck! It's your upgrade. You wan to know just as much as anyone else. You should pay to have it dynoed. You don't have to post your results, but it would be nice to share your outcome because of all the info and help others here so freely share with you. I'm not trying to be mean or rude, just my opinion.

If 50 of you want to send me $50 each, I will show you what a PRG mini lift and a new set of rims and tires look like on my titan.

Your best bet would be to contact your local dyno shops and ask if they can cut you a deal. Tell them you will posting your results on an internet forum with over 7,600 active members. They might be willing to help out if it could generate customers.

KOOL: For the record, I don't care to have my truck dyno'd, and am not suggesting we pay for anyone's mod. What I am saying is that several people have installed some rather promising after market "stuff" and then bailed on the dyno, if that is what they wanted, due to cost. Meaning they spent 3/4/500 or more on an item and wanted to know, but didn't want to pay. This would be a volunteer event for only the better participants, not just some guy saying hey pay me and I'll do it. It would rather work say on a guy who did some fancy aftermarket CAI extreme mod, LIKE THRUST_TITAN, I believe it was, and that many of us want to know the results.

As for me the only loss so far is my time and my $.02 in suggesting an option. I really have no real gain here except to provide options. Only a poll, or moderator driven style approach can make this happen.......
