I'll explain...the limited slip engages automatically eliminating the need to stop and put in 4wd to engaged the E-locker, when something small as a washout can stop the open diff, the limited slip eases throught without getting stuck so easily, while other people laugh at you. In situations with one wheel off the ground the ABLS is useless and the Titan must be shifted into 4WD to continue on, this is where a limited slip has taken me right on through without having to stop.

ABLS wouldn't know the wheel is off the ground and the brake caliper would clamp the spinning wheel, transmitting torque to the wheel that remains on the ground. IMHO, this might make TRUTRAC + ABLS ideal, as in a TRUTRAC w/o traction control, the wheel in the air will continue to spin.

I've tried the one wheel off the ground thing, but the ABLS can't provide enough torque transfer to engage the wheel that's still on the ground(you can tell it's trying). However it works very well on slick ground such as red clay.

Less convenient...maybe, but it's far from worthless.
A limited slip helps, for sure, but it's not as good as a locker, e-lock or otherwise.
E-lock works great for rock crawlers and such. Lockers such as the Detriot Locker are not real friendly for the daily driver but can certainly be used that way, they lock up in tight corners and under hard acceleration. This also eats tires a lot sooner.

I think that for most street use, a limited slip is a good choice. The e-locker is a good product, but as observed above, frequently by the time you decide you need to engage it you are already in trouble.
I'd love to see a Lock-Right produced for our trucks. They are available for the D-44. I think it would be easy for the Ricmond Gear - Powertrax folks to modify the design for our spline count. The great thing about it is that it is durable and cheap. Typically only about $300 or less, and it is easy to install.
Plus, it replaces the spider gears that seem to be the bane of some of us who are experiencing diff. problems.
Downside: It makes a clicking or "ratcheting" sound going around corners. That doesn't bother me a bit. In short wheelbase vehicles true lockers do kind of "misbehave" when you get into or out of the throttle when going around a corner on hard pavement.
The rear will tend to jump out or jump in a few inches as the diff unlocks and locks back. You get used to it and forget about it. Passengers might find it a bit odd at first as you really can feel it.
But this is going to be less noticable with a longer wheel base.
Just for the sake of alternatives, I think I'll ask the Richmond Gear - Powertrax folks if there is a Lock-Right in our future and report back.

I don't know, I didn't notice any accelerated tire wear on my 4Runner with Detroit Locker, and I drove it every day on the streets, and often took it off-road. It's true the back of the truck would feel like its jerking sideways when locking up around corners, but it felt worse than it really was. I hardly noticed when it unlocked. But off-road its can't be beat.
The trick with a locker is to not drive like you're in a sports car...'cause you're not. Drive like you're in a off-road vehicle and its no biggie. It seems a growing number of people want their truck to do it all, you know drive like a Porsche on-road and like a Trophy Truck off-road. Well, you can't have sports car handling and off-road prowess all in one package, it just doesn't work.

If I understand correctly, ALBS won't even work until all 4 wheels reach some threshold speed (signal from wheelspeed sensors) of around 3-5mph. So it maybe able to transfer enough torque just not from stopped.

That maybe the case, it works very well on slick red clay, this I do know. I haven't had it buried up in 2WD very far. I usually go to 4WD before things get to bad, to keep from tearing the road up and causing bigger ruts.

One guy posted a few pages back that he could light up both tires while power braking and i just wanted to ask, Uhhhh how? I thought are trucks werent able to do that.
You would think they test something before they say it works. Guess not though.

I did find out for sure,,, a dana 70 side gear is a perfect fit so i called fred @ trac tech and we talked a bit ,,,, they have nissan axles on order and they think it might be an easy fix,,, maybe just an od grind to get the proper height to the spline,,, and hope that this will be a qwik fix,,,,he was amazed that the 70 has the same dia, and spline.....every one that sees these axles are like "wow" those are huge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
