Is the TrueTrac a true limitted slip, or something else? I wheeled with my father-in-law in his '04 Ram 1500 which has a true limited slip diff. and I was impressed by its climbing ability. [Every hill my locker climbed he had to do as well].
Detroit is going to have a limited run of Truetracs available in about 30 days from now. There should be 30 available, but all of those are spoken for already - to fill backorders, take care of people with problems, etc.
Production units will be available about 60 days from now.
I've talked with Ed, a friend at West Coast Differentials about getting a deal on these Truetracs. He's agreed to do a discount for us, based on the number of orders received. Our price will either be $493 or $454, depending on how many people order within the next week or week and a half. If Ed gets 10 orders within a week, we'll get the extra 8% discount, down to $454. Based on the amount of interest in this and other threads, I think we'll get the extra discount with no problem.
This is NOT a group buy. I'm not keeping track of who's purchased, who said what, who plans on purchasing, etc. I have no interest in this - I already have a Truetrac, and won't be buying a second one. If you want a Truetrac at a good discount, call Ed. I'm posting this to several different Titan forums with the hope of getting a high number of orders quickly to get the extra discount.

These were selling for ~ $562 from Summit. Our price from West Coast Differentials will be $493. If a significant amount of orders are received within a week or two, that price will drop 8%. From $493 to ~ $454. Your credit card won't be charged until the unit ships.
a another thread????? it just gets lost/confusing and Austin has posted his review thread that has the where to call info. Just call Ed if you want one...leave him a voice mail.
Thanks Austin, Ed & Detroit/Eaton!

Too many mods to list PM me I'll tell ya.
You think we could start another thread to keep track for those that want to buy or would it P.O. the TT Admins?
I'll call Ed in a week or so and see how many people have ordered, to see if we're down at the $454 price. Judging by how many people said they were ready to order now, I don't think we're going to have a problem hitting the 10 in a week mark.
So... sure, you can start another thread, but there's really no need.
The fact that this is made in my back yard so to speak and the gear gods here are not to far from Detroit/Eaton, I spoke with DTS here, http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com/about-us.html
and they are going to work with me on the MSRP since I will have them do the install. They are going to contact me when Detroit gives them a firm product availability. It's a quick drive for their parts runner between Southfield and Warren and it appears they have a little pull since they are so close. I can't see buying from out west, getting hit for shipping and having them install a product I didn't purchase from them that's made around the corner. Rather build a good relationship with the gear gods here for $50.

Didn't mention it in my last post - for anybody who wants a set of carrier bearings, the set runs about $35. Not a bad idea to replace them - as was mentioned before, especially if your truck is higher mileage. Not necessary, though. I re-used the same carrier bearings off my original diff carrier.
