Where does it really list the Titan? It lists 93'-05'....Were there any Titans made in 1993?
I think they ment to list the Frontier.
They also list a "H233"...I don't know what model that is...

Do we have a real LSD? Could they have ment "03-05"...

I think that is a missprint. The Head got a rear apart not long ago and the spline count and axel diameter is the same as the part # above. Someone will have to contact them and confirm this is for the nissan titan.

I'll call the 4x4 shop tomorrow and confirm the part number for you guys. But it looks like now only the e lock rears are still failing. so if I get this the rear (diff) probably won't break again. But I've heard ALOT of theories and one had something to do with the frame or rearend allignment? sounds ify but the 4x4 shop guy did mention axle wrap I think being a culprit. I'm sure the front diff's are something else though lol.

NO, the 4x4 guy mentioned it having the lower gear equivelent of 4.10 in a 350 (guessing he meant chevy) so I said yeah, I remember that much from the last phone chat. I'll still get back tomorrow for an actual part number. later

I feel honored you wasted so much time typing to respond to my post and throw insults at me. I didn't say anything in my post that your previous posts didn't already imply in regards to what you have been saying about your unhappiness with the truck and service. I'm sure if you spoke to the service manager that way when your truck broke he bent over backwards to help you. Have a nice day.

FWIW I harbor no ill will to you and hope your purchase makes you happy.

oh btw, my truck is STILL at the dealership BROKEN. So I doubt I can trade it in like that huh? unless this dealership decides to volunteer to take it back...

I don't see how it matters that I felt it through the pedal. Seemed as though you just wanted to say something STUPID at someone elses expense. I DO harbor an ill will against you for that. But as you seemed to respond better to a direct attack I'll leave it alone and not hate you anymore. It wasn't very nice imo.

Trying to figure out whats failing in the rear ends that go south is a problem, the dealers don't know/tell the customers what the actual problem was, and many owners don't know all that much about rear ends...between the two, there isn't much hard facts...
1. Spyder & cross shaft, axle gears.
2. The ring & pinion.
3. Bearings.

Any one of those can cause problems for the other two. Excessive metal from the R&P wearing will kill the bearings before it kills the spyder gears. if it bothers the spyders at all.

Bearings failing won't cause problems for the spyders, but could cause minor issues with R&P.

Spyder gears that crack are by themselves, but if they wear out, then that will cause problems with bearings...

So, after endless posts on the subject, as a professional mechanic, I still don't know the root failures of the rear ends...

ah, forgot to call them... I called the dealer again and noone after that lol. But um $690 offhand for the part at a 4x4 shop. So, I'm sure he marked his price up like 100% lol. Probably around $400 at most off the net shipped after they've been released a while.

I personally want to see if the pin or whatever is on the ring/pinion if it is an LSD wont fix the problem with the rears breaking imo. so I'll cancel my order or see if someone wants to buy it.

The true trac does not use spider gears and shaft like a std diffy.....so if they did the heat treating right and used the correct material ... this should stop the diff grenading,,, at least the ones that are not ring and pinion related......

Lou - I busted my diff about a week ago. I've got an awesome service manager - he overnighted a new axle for me yesterday, I dropped my truck off today and should be able to pick it up tomorrow. He's giving me the old axle - If I have time this weekend I'm going to get into it and see what failed.

Should we go for any bets on the parts that failed,,,,

i am leaning toward the spider shaft keeper, spider shaft and the spiders,,,
