lol, not too good with pigeon. howlie huh?, I don't recall playing any race cards on any internet site or in real life, very intresting!

I'm actually not complaining about having a big enough truck, this truck is as big as anyone could ever need. I want a truck that can put out as much as the Titan and HONESTLY an F150 or Tundra or Chevy can't do it imo. So that's why I want a bigger truck. Someone on here with a Titan AND F250 said 250 gets better milage. I've been wanting to do the bio diesel thing for kicks for a few months BEFORE I got the Titan. I always have to explain myself everytime someone asks wierd questions or whatnot... I filled my FRONTIER OVER THE ROOF with snow and never really considered the possibility that it may break . Love the truck hate the fact that they're saying it's a one time deal and the are still attempting to void my warranty if I ever bust the rear again or whatever. So, I'll talk about other trucks IF I ever need to relocate, YES it is getting THAT bad. Can I not even check about lifts for other trucks and pursue them and talk about it on here? lol, I just thought I'd add about the lift because I was happy when I checked out an F2... never again will I bring up anything of another "competitor"... walks away... lol .... walks back in :-P

here's the newest -> General Manager-(two weeks ago)-Two weeks your parts will be in...... "today" Service Consultant-you guys need to come in and sign some papers so we can order your rear end....

I called the GM after SC said that to see what he had to say. He was as supprised as me to hear that lol. So he'll be caling me back in the morning, we'll see if I get a loaner for the next two weeks, here we go again lol. so what were you saying? shipping here takes a while? you have no idea lol... I've spent too much energy on it... so I'm done talking about it for now.

In other news I GOT THAT PART NUMBER 913A582

913A582 I repeat 913A582 the owner of the 4x4 shop didn't even give it to me at 1st til I told him you guys were continental us. later

So this only works with the 3.35 and not the 2.94? Or does it not matter what the gearing is. I was under the impression that this is independent of your gearing. I just want the limited slip......

mine is for the lower gearing so that would mean 2.94 is a different one. Crap I should've specified. I've never heard of higher gears breaking, guess it's kool to have an LSD anyway...

Hey Guys!
Has anyone figured out what will happen with the installed ABLS on the 4X2 Titans? Will the brain interfere with the operation of the mechanical LSD?? Can the ABLS be defeated to prevent possible interferrence??

Any good info on this topic will be appreciated.

TIA,

Ralph

Interesting question. ABLS + Tru-Trac might be ideal. In an ordinary Tru-Trac, with one wheel off the ground or on ice with zero traction, it will just continue to spin. For that reason, Tru-Trac users have developed a technique in which they feather the parking brake just enough to simulate a bit of traction on the spinning wheel. ABLS might take care of that automatically and make the combination the cat's meow.

I just feather the brake pedal, not the parking brake. Can't really feather the parking brake on the Titan. For offroading you need to learn to drive with both feet anyway.

I've mastered driving with both feet when in New Orleans, all you do is sit on top with legs through the sunroof and your ready to go.

The ECU won't even know you have the LSD, it will just think that your truck is hooking up, and not spinning one wheel...

Thumbs up

Damn this forum! It's going to run me to the 'poor house'! If it wasn't for this forum I would be fat, dumb and happy until my rear blew (and then I'd lose my mind.) Because of this resource I just love my truck , in spite of it's shortcomings, and I have to go buy a tru-track! Once that's in then I'm sure an exhaust mod and tires are right around the corner...

Like I said before this is one mod i really want. What type of shop should I go and order from? I figured from above that a Jo-Blo repair shop is not the way to go.

I would make sure that they install Tru-Tracs on a regular basis and that the tech that will actually be doing the work is experienced. I would also inquire about the warranty and get it in writing.

Here is the brochure on the Tru-Trac:

http://www.tractech.com/docs/OEMTruetrac.pdf

If you look at the part called "flanged body" in the exploded drawing, you will note a circular array of holes extending around the periphery. That part replaces the existing carrier within your differential. The existing carrier is shown in the exploded drawing at the bottom of this page and labeled "case":

http://mightymo.org/Proj_D41-2Replacement.html

So what is going to occur in installation is that they will remove the existing carrier (or "case") including the associated spider gears and replace with the tru-trac, including the "flanged body" and helical gears.

The existing ring gear gets bolted to the circular array of holes extending around the "flanged body" of the tru-trac. The critical part is that the proper alignment of the ring and pinion are preserved after installation of the tru-trac.

Here is a "how to" installation page:

Nice article below, but keep in mind they won't be messing with the pinion (hopefully) to install the tru-trac in an existing Titan differential:

Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm a newb when it comes to these things...

This should work any Titan? Will it work on the front also and would you need it on the front?
