I'd like to start dewing my own sewrvice and need some advice on da basicks. My mechaniqal ability is very limited but my friends at work assure me I can handle this. My truck just turnd 48k miles and with the recomendid 50,000 change comin up I'd lyke to do the furst oil change myself. My wife has a pretty good set of tools, so I think I shuwdent need anything butt yer advice. Thanks in advince. also, I hav had truble gettin the oil plug luse, would a little heat help free it up, I seam to be messing up the nut becuz its so tite.
I'm sure you don't mean you are doing the first oil change at 50,000 miles. Guess you mean 5,000, which is still far too long for the first change. Do not heat the plug! If you don't have the proper socket to fit the plug correctly take it to the dealer. And if you are having a problem removing the drain plug you will never get the filter off.
Sorry if it sounds like I am doubting your ability to do the oil change, but I think you need to get some help or take it to a shop and watch them so you can learn how to do the job.

I think i red my manuwl rong. I reelly thogt it was suppossed to be 50, 000. The dealer said it was a long sewrvise intervell. I was able to get the filter off by stabbing it with a screwdriver and turning it off, but the plug is still givin me a problum

Does your daddy know you are playing with his computer?
OK, you caught me. Let this be a lesson, never leave your laptop unattended in a fire station! Idle minds at play, sorry if we hurt any feelings. Don't hate Gilligan, hate the game
Not sure how I feel about a fireman named gilligan saving my life if I needed it... with a pic of a sheep in a garter and friends like he has, I think I'll take my chances with 'stop drop and roll'
