Magnaflow Dual Exhaust

Has anybody got the Magnaflow cat-back Dual Exhaust kit and then one of thir Y-pipes also? I know the kit doesn't replace the Y-pipe, but it really sounds good from the clip on their website. Anybody know why they decided to not replace the Y? Does it prevent losing any low-end torque? Oh and if I replace the Y-pipe back, should I get some mandrel bent tubing for the length from the resos to the Y? I think its like 2" or so there right, and the magnaflow Y is a dual 2.5" into 3" (muffler inlet is 3" also, so it would work out). I would think that replacing the tubing with 2.5" would be a good idea.

Now the other option is to get one of their universal mufflers and have an exhaust shop run tubing. But I want mandrel bent and SS so I'm not sure if I can find a place to do it and if I do, they might have to use pre-mandrel bent tubes that will cost me more than the magnaflow kit. I really want 4" or so tips also because I think the 3.5" look too small on this truck so thats another positive for doing a custom setup.

Anybody got pics of their magnaflow setup? Opinions?

I have the magnaflow cat back system, and the Banks Y pipe. I didn't see any performance improvement with the Magnaflow untill I installed the 3" Y pipe.

This is why you don't want to use the stock Y pipe. This is a photo of the stock pipe, cut where the two head pipes join.

Cool, I think I want the exhaust and then a Y-pipe also. Personally I think the Magnaflow sounds even better than the Banks. Plus its a dual, which I like. Rholland, did you replace the pipe from the resos to the Y? Do you have the dual or single?

I have a dual in/dual out magnaflow system (the Y is gone) and felt a discernable increase in performance. I may have lost some low end torque but, other than that, why keep the Y? Don't forget about increased cabin noise with this performance system. I have been told a larger tip decreases this affect so, if you do these mods, let me know how it turns out. L8r.

I have the 3" single, in and the 3" single out. I replaced everthing from the reso's back with Banks 3" piping and Y pipe and Magnaflow muffler and tail pipe. I don't believe magnaflow offered a dual when I got mine, 8 or 9 months ago.

The Magnaflow not including the Y pipe is the main reason I went with the Banks. I have seen a noticable increase in low end torque since installing the Banks. For the price of the Magnaflow plus a y pipe you might as well buy a B&B or Borla.

I don't like the B&B and the Borla crosses in front of the diff, which I don't like. If I had to choose a different exhaust, I would go with the Banks. I'm gonna go see how much a custom setup would run at an exhaust shop.

If I had to do it agin, I would buy the Banks. I bought the magnaflow, after being assured by the company selling it, that it was a complete cat back system. After I got it nd saw that it was not complete, I ordered the Banks piping and Y pipe. It made a good combo, but the price was $750 for everything, which was a little high.
It was going to cost $200 to send back the Magnaflow.
