you don't have to take it out you will have to take the two wiring harness of of it and the two screws out and lift the washer box out of the way and the you will be able to get to the last screw holding you air box on then youwill put the air box back on
I didn't have to move anything to remove mine when I replaced it with the Volant. I do remember having to pull up on the box after removing a bolt or two, pulls right off of the rubber grommets. . .

I got the bolt in the middle, and the screw in the upper corner, but there seems to be a bolt tucked down along the side by the washer container. I just can't tell though...
I'll get out there tomorrow and take a look. It got dark and cold, so I gave up for the night.

After you get the bolt in the middle and the one on top, just yank it and it will come out. Putting it is another thing unless you skip that last bolt. To put the third bolt in you will have to remove the washer resevoir.

If I remember correctly you remove 1 screw at the top of the air box and the band clamp for the hose and the rubber grommets will pop right off over the 2 bolts holding it on is that how you did it 37L1?

That's how I remember it, been over a year and a half.
Didn't have to reach into any tight spots, just one and yank.

You do NOT need to remove either the bolt inside the airbox or the one outside at the bottom. The airbox pulls right off the rubber grommets that the bolts are holding in place. In fact if you do take one out, you will need to reinstall it so that you can pull it out correctly (otherwise the box will move too much). Again all you do is remove the top bolt, the harnesses, and then pull the box straight up off the rubber grommets. Trust me it will come right off.

The bolt is there to hold the rubber grommet. The grommet is what actually holds the box on, and the box "pops" on and off it. You will understand when you go at it tommorrow, just make sure to put your center bolt back. Then pull upwards and the box will pop off the grommets. Then you can remove the bolts if you wish.
