I replaced my muffler with a magnaflo stainless steel muffler and left everything else alone....it cost me about $80 and 2 hours of rolling around on the ground and sounds great...not too loud and not too quiet. It's kinda like Goldie Locks said once she climbed into Baby Bears bed......"just right".

Oh yea, I also installed a K-N drop in filter and butchered up my stock box with a Drimmel tool in an attempt to allow more airflow. I'll probably get one of those fancy aftermarket intakes someday just because I like the look of the shiney tube.

When choosing a dual exhaust....

Do you want performance or sound? Or balance between the two. I'm on my number two Titan (04 & 05). I had a 70 series Flowmaster on my 04. It gave more horsepower at take off, but was loud in the cabin. As for the 05 I placed a flowmaster 50 series a lot less noise and much more horsepower on the top-end. and yes from the Cats back is what you want to do. True dual exhaust has improved my gas mileage. On the Highway I get 410 mile per tank of gas. Good luck on you mod. And enjoy your Titan.

By "true duel exhaust", are you talking about eliminating the "Y" pipe and using two mufflers, or are you calling a single inlet/ duel outlet muffler a "true duel exhaust"?

I did a custom true dual with magnaflow XLs for $400 out the door. Cheap and works great.
