Centrifugal Superchargers

The latest issue of Hot Rod has an interesting article about Rotrex superchargers. When I started digging around for info I found a couple of companies selling them for the 350Z. Perhaps the Titan may not be far behind. It looks like a really nice installation, but at 7K for the kit most guys will have to put a kidney on ebay to pay for it. This is my first attempt at attatching pics, so maybe they will work...

Re: Centrifugal Superchargers

I agree with jeepinfun. Most of the time companies resort to centriguals when the roots-types don't fit under hood. The 350Z is an example of this, as their roots-style kits (Stillen's) requires a new hood with an additional hump.

Re: Centrifugal Superchargers

I am almost positive we WILL see a centrifigal in the near future. I am pretty sure Vortech will eventually make a kit for the Titan and it won't be a roots type. If it is successful I am sure AFI and Paxton will join in the fun as well. All three of these companies are well know centrfigal blower makers. Only time will tell. Also if we get a market with three options in blowers or so the prices will drop from those ridiculous $7000 costs.

Re: Centrifugal Superchargers

rico387 may be a good person and probably meant no offense to anyone, but using a pharse similar to "putting a kidney on ebay" shows extremely poor judgement and overall bad taste. rico387 is obviously does not know what people who need transplants go through while waiting - many die or become too ill to receive the transplant when it becomes available. I have been fortunate enough to receive 3 in the last 8 years, and I am alive because of them. Even the suggestion that organs can be auctioned off or purchased by some other means only perpetuates many myths about transplants and reduces potential donors. I wish I had the time and energy to provide rico387 with the proper education, but this is not the proper forum. Something to think about.

If I see one more post about B**ches whining that EVERYONE on this board needs to be PC I'm gonna shoot someone. (please tell me that's not cool cause you have a friend who was shot so you can be first in line) This aint tree-huggers anonymous, it's a truck owners board. Truck owners especially titan owners tend to be male, and the ones that tend to post on an online board are typically young males. Therefor, one SHOULD expect what gets said on this board to be typical of young males.

I'm getting really tired of reading a funny line only to see it followed with one of you TH's saying "excuse me please join our little hippy circle and never say anything that could offend anyone." Okay, some people are: mentally handicapped, need medical assistance of some sort, short, tall, fat, skinny, pimpled, whatever. Personally, I'm a fat *** but I don't go telling the world not to make fat jokes. I don't care about your f**kin personal problems. You need a kidney don't care...it's a funny line...have a brother/kid/anyone who is mentally handicapped (I have a cousin who is) that doesn't mean Nobody can make a retard joke. Sure, you won't like it, but that doesn't mean that they can't or even shouldn't post it. I'm tired of the tree huggers taking over every funny post. I live in seattle and this is the one place I hope to hide from you. Leave your g*d d*mn tree hugging off my cool truck website.

Tree huggers have no business here in my 10mpg world.

Re: Centrifugal Superchargers

To DrCombustion and any others who may have taken offense to my euphamism of "Putting A Kidney on Ebay": I humbly appologize for any grief or ill feelings that it may have caused. The intent was totally tongue-in-cheek. As a firefighter/EMT for going 23 years, I assure you that no one takes (or cherishes) the value of life more seriously than I do. Last July, two days after my 42nd birthday, I had a stress induced heart attack. Now, if I hear someone say "Man, I'm serious as a heart attack", I now smile and think to myself-oof! that's pretty big. I take it in context and consider the intent of the person making the remark. I hold no malice toward anyone. Except maybe my ex mother in law... But that's another thread.
So...How 'Bout themm centrifugal superchargers...

Re: Centrifugal Superchargers

OK now we got both extremes
... Dr_combustion I am both sorry to hear about your problem and am gladdened to hear you have at least received your donated organ. I can appreciate your sensitivty due to losing my Brother 2 yr ago who died before he could stablize for heart machine to take over( He was being stabilized after life flight form CC to Houston, got kicked in chest by his greenbroke horse). I have made sure donor is checked on my DL ever since. but I am sure the original statement was not made with mallicious intent.

... adavis99 ... dang we aint gotta be PC here I agree( or I gotta find a dif board) but that was just carelesly rude imho.

what a way to get waaaay off topic.

LOL,

That was so funny. I was laughing so hard I almost peed on myself. I agree with your rant 100%. I have a friend who lives in Seattle and is always telling me about the extreme liberals that live there.

She knows a couple who lives there that won't get married because their afraid of offending their gay friends .

Whatever,

I think in all of my 30 years on this planet that was about the dumbest fu*king thing I have ever heard.

Back to the subject: .

My bet is Vortech being the first ones to produce a centrifigal for the Titan. It's only a matter of time with as popular as the Titan is. I give it another year. We should start seeing more options.
