Re: electric fan

the e-fan adds power and fuel milage but eliminating the mechanical fan. the titan though seems to have a very efficient mechanical fan set up from the factory.

Re: electric fan

I think he might be referring to the one that comes with the tow pacakage.

I did a conversion on my titan a while back and went with two electric fans in place of the clutch fan. I did it mainly to be able to cool the truck off at the track.

All Titans have the aux. electric fan mounted in front of the A/c condenser. There is no additional fan or cooler that comes with the tow package.I think he is talking about replacing the belt driven fan as you did.

Re: electric fan

There is no free lunch. Eliminating the mechanical fan will require the alternator to put out more power to drive the added load. The mechanical fan is more reliable than a electric fan that is always on. My electric fan only turns on when the AC is on and the Titan is sitting.

My 99 Q45 has three fans. One mechanical and two large electric fans. You can sit in traffic all day in 100 deg weather with the AC blasting and the engine will never overheat. I rather have overkill in the Titan and have second electric fan too.
