New Titan owner here. Looking for tips on how to kick my buddies *** in his Chevy 2500HD. He has been givin me crap every since I bought the Titan a couple of months ago. He says he is getting a chip for Christmas that will give him about 25 to 30hp and wants to race after he gets it installed. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/imag...lies/fight.gif
I have a K&N CAI with a Gibson exhaust. I know the 20" wheels will hurt me but I dont have the stock wheels. I cannot find any information regarding any chips for the Titan so I guess I have to work with what I have.
The guys on Club Titan say I should be in pretty good shape as is. Just looking for any other information or experience you all might have.
We most likely wont flat out drag from a dead stop.....rolling starts on the freeway are more likely....who knows. All I know is that I do not want to loose! He will never let me hear the end of it!! http://www.titantalk.com/forums/imag...lies/mecry.gif
Well, I don't personally own one, but I've heard that a throttle body spacer is a great choice for HP gain. I plan on getting one myself in the near future.

Does he have the 6.0L Vortec or the 6.6L Durmax diesel? Auto or manual transmission? Single, extended, or crew cab? 2WD or 4WD?
With the 6.0L, you should be able to edge him out. They're quick in the 1500s, but the 2500s are fair/good game.
If he has the 6.6L Duramax diesel, that chip is going to give him a hell of a lot more than 25-30hp. In that case, I would probably stay away or expect to lose. It's not unusual for a programmer on a diesel to make 80+ hp / tq.
I know! I think he knows he doesnt stand much of a chance stock. I am a little worried after a chip though....that combined with my oversized wheels could make it close I think.......Just so sick of hearing about how chevy rules.....will be unbearable if I dont kick his ***!
You shoudn't have too much of an issue. The 2500 6.0L Vortec is not that impressive. And when he adds the chip, so what, he's at a severe weight disadvantage compared to the Titan. He would have to make up more than 20hp to beat you.
Goos luck and let us know how it goes!!

race him dude. you got it no problem. unless he supercharges that damn thing you got it in the bag. just mash the gas and watch him dissapear in your rearview mirror. there's no competition in my opinion chip or not.
My buddy has the GMC version of this truck... Exact spec and cab configuration as your buddy, with dual Flowmaster 70's on it (I posted my thoughts on it in Off Topic or somewhere when I first drove it, but I don't think anyone cared -no replies ).
I've driven it a few times since and its a nice truck, but the Titan is definitely faster. You have a substantial weight advantage.
