Anybody know anything about ARB's? This is for a modified DANA 44 with 35 spline axles which appear to be the same dimensions as the Titan's axles. Maybe the ring gear diameter & bolt pattern is different? It looks like they are part of the way to having a locker for the Titan. Anybody know anything from ARB?
ARB makes top shelf equipment. Their lockers and bumpers are cherry ****. They come out of Australia and demand a hefty price, but if you have the money its worth it.
As far as the Titan goes, don't we have 32-spline axles?
ARB is definately nice stuff, but there are a few downsides. It's air actuated, so that requires a pump and air line plumbing. If you have a leak and lose pressure, or the pump dies, then you're out of luck. They also require you to drill and tap the case and bearing cap for the air lines to run. They work well, but have been know to become inop from small particles in the diff oil. Petersen's 4 Wheel and Offroad's Ultimate Adventure K10 had an ARB that broke on the trail because of slightly too much sealant used on the differential cover. And they're expensive.
Tractech (now owned by Eaton) makes a Detroit Electrac which is a TrueTrac LSD and a e-lock all in one. I know they have it for standard D44 applications, and would be nice if they came out with it for the Titan.

The Detroit Electrac is garbage, there have been numerous failures since it's release.
If you want a selectable locker go with an ARB or an Eaton E-Locker. The Eaton is a much better product than the Detroit Electrac.
If you want a selectable locker for the Titan though, I would say the factory unit is the only way to go.

That's too bad, it had potential. That's the first I've heard of any problems, well the first I head of any useage actually. Last time I had read up on it, it was just being released. I'm suprised it's not doing well since Eaton now owns Tractech, you would think it'd use the same technology as the Eaton e-lockers. Of course no one has mentioned the OX cable locker. I haven't heard much in the way of field reports though.

The Eaton is completely different, much better piece of equipment. Both lockers were on the market long before the companies had merged. I wouldn't be surprised of they drop the Electrac alltogether and focus on producing more of the Eaton E-Lockers.
In regards to Ox, I'd recommend an E-Locker much sooner than that piece of junk. I had 2 Ox lockers in my Jeep, they never worked right from day one, and eventually they blew up. They're now in the garbage in a bunch of tiny pieces. Ox offered no support, and the company basically disappeared off the radar for 2 years to avoid the numerous warranty claims they had.
Now the company is running again under new ownership. The product may be a bit better now, but the company is just too shady to deal with.
FWIW, I now have 2 ARB's in my Jeep and I couldn't be more pleased.
ARB hands down. I installed front and rear in my Land Cruiser. My dad has it now and still works great. BTW, "I" meaning me installed them both, no special tools and the only hole I had to drill was through the diff housing. I ONLY took the vehicle in to have the front spacing checked (you should have special tools) after 50+k miles I guess I got the rear pretty close

Mmmmm... ARB.... When I set up the order for my Dana 60, I spec'd it with an ARB. They're the bee's knees.
