News on "Consult" programming

I found out today that the consult will add and store up to 3 degrees advance on the timing side and up to 5 degrees while still plugged in, but will revert to the stored 3 degrees when unplugged. Gonna test all of this at the track tomorrow.

Seems to me that everyone is more interested in another air filter.

Re: News on "Consult" programming

Went to the track tonite and only got one run in. The Nissan dude failed to show and my bud that was gonna watch my son bailed as well. My only run netted me this:

Reaction: .9681 Don't laugh, ain't been to the track in some time.
60 ft: 2.47
330 ft: 6.60
1/8 E/T: 10.00
1/8 MPH: 72.48
1/4 E/T: 15.33
1/4 MPH: 91.65

I know that with a better reaction time I coulda ran a little better, the 60 ft wasn't that good either. I had some axle hop and spin. I was hoping this guy would have shown up with the consult. oh well, till next weeked.

Very respectable time. I did not make it out to the track either tonight. By the way my UpRev Cipher is on it's way from Austin,TX and it does a +/-2 degree timing shift they say. So you may not need to wait on the consult guy in future just buy the Cipher. I'll keep you posted on the program and features.

Re: News on "Consult" programming

I didn't know if the guy was "blowin' smoke" when he told me it will advance up to 5 degrees while the consult is still plugged in. Heard anything about this?

I thought that I did fairly well for not going to the track in some time. I was looking at the mods and times sticky and noticed that I have the MPH for a 15 to 14.9 run.

Yeah I have but 5 sounds like a lot I actually heard of 2 done at the dealer on one of the boards out there. The ECU is a self learner so if it corrects itself in a day or a week who knows but atleast Cipher software gets to change and save it.

Wow, you're trap speed tells me you're making some power with the timing and higher octane.

The 60 ft time killed your ET. If you only had a 2.1 sec or less, your 1/4 could have been sub-15 sec!! Improving/modding your traction department will get your 0-60 better! Like m95 says ^ your trap speed is great!!!

Re: News on "Consult" programming

the thing is I never got to add the timing, the dude never showed. he swore to me that he was going to be there. I'm going to the Nissan dealership today to see what was up. I really wanted to get some comparisions before and after. Guess I'll go again next weekend.

Yeah, that 60 ft and my reaction killed that run. But I really didn't have anyone to watch my son.

Re: News on "Consult" programming

Forgot to mention.....the only mods I have done are the Banks and K& N filter set-up. I took my spare off, my tailgate, my huge and heavy sub box. I still have my toolbox on, but it was emptied. I aired the front tires up to 42lbs and dropped the rear to about 30lbs. VDC was off and it was in Tow mode. The outside temp was a nice 50 degrees.

What did I miss...what is this Cipher software you speak of???? Is it something we use with a laptop and to programm the ECU?? And this will apparently do the 2-3 degree timing advance that the dealer can do with the consult II???
