Can't wait to hear your impressions on it. I've been looking at it for a while debating on if I should drop the money for it or not.

Initial thoughts...

So far very impressed.

The install takes about 10 minutes starting when you open the USPS box it comes in. So I installed on my laptop IBM T30 with ease. The software is on a CD and is not a self running install so you will have to navigate to CD drive. They provide a well written install with graphic images that actually respresent the software install process. I had to install the software and then reboot to get the USB OBD2 proprietary cable to be recognized. The software only runs on WindowsXP and only with USB cable as far as I know.

After the install I immediately looked at the parameters list of items to review and log...lets say this is for another post as they are many. I clicked several and jumped in the truck to come connect and drive home.

Upon connecting the first time I had to close Cipher once and re-launch in order for Cipher to find the ECU. It takes apprx. 5-20 secs to log into ECU which opens a screen showing your ECU ID and product code number. Close that screen and then the main screen opens (see pic). I like the carbon fiber background and as you scroll over the buttons on the left side the black screen to right tells you what it is and what it does.

I selected monitor and record ECU functions and selected many options to monitor. A new screen pops up showing real time monitoring of the selected items. It is a screen that is customizable (mouse click) as to which functions you want just displayed as text or with a gauge. Let me say when you hit the throttle all items related to the gas pedal come alive. See data file in excel of my drive home.

Ok here's a screen shot of the data file which has an awesome graphing view. The graphs have the option of zooming in to a very close view allowing the user to capture the details needed for that precise tune.

Oops did I tell you I reset my idle speed from 650 to 700? Hmmm well I just can’t believe it. I have had trouble with a exhaust vibration that has been more prevalent with CAI and exhaust so I’m hoping adding 50rpm will fix that. Will update you all on this is it works long term however after setting on the way home and rechecking after getting home and going back out to store and checking again the ECU took the change.

All right my hands are tired and my laptop battery is about dead I need one those invertors for the Titan when working from the driveway.

Re: UpRev CIPHER Software

After you use this for a while, please post what parameters you can change. You stated that you reset the idle speed. Can you do other adjustments such as timing, etc? My OBD software does a good job of reading everything out, but it can't change any settings.
Instead of an inverter to power the laptop, get a DC to DC converter. You can find one for your laptop on ebay. The DC to DC units are much more efficient, and don't have all the hash that inverters have. My laptop goes thru the battery quickly (2.8 P4, 16.1" screen uses lots of power), so the external power supply is necessary.

Re: UpRev CIPHER Software

Looks like you just made me spend more money! I think I gotta have that software.
I mentioned the DC to DC supply in my earlier post. I just remembered I have an extra one, new in the package. It is a 70 watt, 3.5 amp output at selectable voltages of 15,16,18,19,20,22 and 24 volts. It has adapters to fit all notebooks. PM me if you are interested.

Re: UpRev CIPHER Software

Thanks for keeping us informed. Any other user adjustable parameter/s aside from the RPM? Maybe like Timing advance/retard?
