Have you dyno'd the truck before the mods? Are you going to dyno the truck soon?

Re: Added Stillen Headers.......WOW!!!!

Probably another POST-N-RUN.

Why is it that the guys that do the big/ unique mods post once, then dissappear.

Im still waiting to see how the Mossy long tubes are doing.

He probably just wanted to let us know that he has them on the truck and really likes them, you should also see some posts about how he sold his JBA headers, just to get the Stillen ones.

I got to see the headers at the Titan day and there are no catalytic converters in the header. They are true long-tube headers, they do not require any cutting/welding or modification whatsoever like the JBA's. I asked the guys at Stillen about CEL lights or setting off engine codes, and they said that after hundreds of miles of road-testing, and many hours/days on the dyno they were able to design them so they don't trigger any engine codes.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to see if the guy that started the thread dyno's them and shows an appreciable gain.

And I'd like to see photos and hear about the install.

I don't know alot about the company, I just ask them alot of questions haha, they are really helpful and knowledgable people over there, they have a few people on their staff that have actually stripped just about every part of the truck down, and I've kind of become friends with some of the guys there. Moving onto your question though. From what I understand the reason you can't keep your warranty with a set of headers (theirs or JBA's for those of you that think they will just be trying to sell more of their own parts) is because they haven't tested the combination of the two yet to see how they work. They actually found that with the 350Z it lost a 1/2 LB. of boost and caused it to run a little bit lean because of the loss of back pressure. So...long explanation short, you can do the long-tube headers, but you will lose your engine warranty. I know that Stillen will be testing out the combination on their dyno here shortly and should have an answer in the next couple of months. The reason it might take a little while is because Nissan came out with that new 300 HP engine for the 350Z and their supercharger doesn't fit on it so they are having to make a new supercharger kit for them, they are also working on their kit for the Frontier, and they have another forced induction kit coming out too, but they won't tell me what it's for. Oh...and for those of you that have the supercharger like Got Titan, look forward to a Stage 2 kit that will give you more power before the end of the year.

There is alot more involved with the headers than just running pipes. you can actually manipulate the location of the O2 sensors to put them at an area that will read lower emissions gases than another part of the header. They also include some special wiring harnesses and computer controls which fool the computer into thinking that everything in the exhaust manifold is good and happy (I don't think Mossy does that, I could be wrong though.) In everything you look at there are companies that know what they are doing, and companies that try and convince you that they know what they are doing. Stillen has been tuning Nissans for 20 years now. They actually started a long time before NISMO was even thought of. Mossy is a dealership, not a tuner. Although it is always interesting to see what people come up with and watch their results, I stick with the people that have been doing it the longest and know the history of the manufacturers vehicles they are modifying.

That's the link to the Stillen page...
They are made out of 304 Stainless Steel, that's why they are a little pricey, but still better price than the ones Mossy was selling, I think theirs were going for a grand and would set off CEL lights
