Lately I have been feeling the need for speed. The Stillen supercharger seems to be the fix. I have read just about everything there is on this unit. I had mixed feelings at one time, especially over the price. However after looking at some units for the F-150, and Ram the Stillen unit seems reasonable in price and power output. The Stillen unit seems to come with more extras (injectors, fuel pump, etc) that some of the models for other trucks dont come with.
I have been looking at sports cars and even drove a Lightning but I love my Titan and with the help of the Stillen supercharger I believe that I will have what I am looking for without taking up more space in the garage.
I am worried that I may buy the Stillen and then Vortec/Nismo will come out with one, or that Stillen will "update/upgrade" their existing system.
I am also worried that the price may drop shortly after my purchase.
I also have some concern as the the durability of the Titan drive-train.
I have been justifying the extra expenditure by reminding myself how much less than msrp I paid for my Titan.
I am merely thinking out-loud and would love to hear any input that you all may have to help me make my decision.
Thanks

If you do, you will have a lot of new friends here that will want to talk to you a whole lot...
As far as the price, pull the trigger and never look back. I go with the attitude that I buy what I want based on the best price I could find at the time. Sure you could wait till a better price comes around but how long is worth the wait?
The stock drive-train will be fine. It's the rear end that you really have to be concerned with. It's another one of those items that doesn't have a 100% failure rate. There are a lot of us that have had no issues, yet.
I think you should do itand post every step of the way!

There's always going to be a better and bigger version of what your purchasing. Don't get buyers remorse and take the plunge.
Don't buy it if your financially strained though. It will be more painful

Honestly, I think the unit is reasonably priced. For instance the Radix Superchargers for the GM trucks are 5K+. Yes, you can buy some cheaper, but it's the best and still won't put out as much power as the Stillen unit on our trucks.
I don't think you'll see too much of a price drop even if Nismo comes out with one, but that's just my opinion.
I too am a little concerned over the rear end going out, but whaddaya gonna do? Nobody knows for sure whether it's a manuf. defect in some or all, or what.
If I had the extra coin right now, I'd do it. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for a while.
Compared to the cost of a SC, a Dana 60 is a whole lot cheaper. I wouldn't worry about the drivetrain until you have reason to.
If you can afford it and want to do it, go ahead and enjoy the new power option. Don't suck the life out of your joy by second guessing and what if'ing your decision.
Definitely pay the extra and get the Stillen warranty.
I know what you are going through though. I think a lot of us go the route your are traveling now before we ever make a big purchase.
Hey, what's the worst that could happen?

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I am not too concerned with the stage 2, I think the stage 1 will be adequate.
I have considered calling Stillen and will probably do so.
I was fairy certain I was going to purchase the supercharger before my first post on the matter. I merely wanted to hear some opinions and they have only affirmed my feelings. I am going to do it!!!!!
I will be waiting a month or so before I purchase. I do not want my first test drive in the snow, nor do I want to install this thing when it is 10 degrees out.
I promise to document thoroughly and post as often as possible.
I am sure that I will be needing the help of the forum and those few that have done this before. Hopefully there will be a few more by the time I get to it.
