Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

I am curious if anyone else has contacted Banks about the drone. I first spoke with Eric, a customer service rep. He said that there have been some calls concerning this drone issue. I asked about solutions. Eric knew of none but put me in contact with Dang, the project manager. He suggested swapping out the muffler with another Banks model. Dang indicated that this swap would lower the sound by approx 3-4db, but not really change the frequency. I asked if this muffler is available for a complimentary upgrade for their customers. Dang and Eric will check an let me know. I have had very good sucess with their diesel equipment, and I used this equipment on all three of my Dodge/Cummins trucks. I hope they do the right thing.

No offense, but when you are buying an exhaust should'nt you kinda understand that certain models will have that drone? I know when researching any exhausts that is one of the first things I look for.

So what you're telling us is...you spoke to the dang project manager? Sorry, I just had to!
Anyhow, I didn't get the Banks because (almost) everyone complained or spoke of this drone. Some said it was helped by changing the huge 5" tip to either a smaller one or repositioned the one they had. I would someday like to change to a dang aftermarket muffler! Geez...there I go again.

The drone is to be loved and embraced, it's Valentines Day! Go get your drone some flowers, chocolates and a nice card, then maybe she, I mean it will quieten down a bit.

Re: Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

You should meet my neighbor.

Neighbors...WTF (Banks Exhaust)

Sorry but in my prof. opinion you're a tool bro. You bought the loudes exhaust for the Titan and called the manufacturer to complain about it being loud.

LMAO

Re: Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

adavis: No, I purchased the Banks for my research efforts. And you are incorrect to equate nosie with drone. I was justing looking for more info for my reaearch efforts. Maybe I should have stated that purpose in my original post. Or maybe I did.....

Re: Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

marc; You are correct in that some systems will have a drone. The frequency of the drone will vary, though. That is to say, it is possible to tune an exhaust so that the drone occurs at a specific rpm. Perhaps someone who has spoken with Banks may some insight into this tuning.

I didn't contact Banks but did contact Zoomers for the Cannon tip.

Re: Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

baseballfanz: I read the info on the Zoomer's site about their technology. From what I have seen and read, it appears to work well. It could be that there is a lesson here. My question for you is: is there any residual drone at all? If so, in what rpm range? Thanks.

The drone is slightly still there but at a very tolerable level ( I would say a little more than stock but no where as annoying as with the Banks megaphone). It's still in the same range, from about 1500 - 2000 rpm.

Re: Anyone Else Contacted Banks about the Drone?

Dood...banks is loud as $hit. Why do people buy the banks and then try and make it not loud?

Buy Borla or Zoomers or Gibson...they all are quiet.

Toss the coffee can aside and I believe the Drone decreases. Sorry to call you a tool, I ment it in a friendly giving you schit way. Still, Banks is for us obnoxius kids (whether actual or figurative)
