I have a 2006 KC Titan, K/n tells me they do not offer a drop in filter, but they do make one for the 04 and 05. The dealer says the OEM filter is the same for 04,05 and 06. K/N also said they DO have a drop in for the fullsize Infinity 5.6 for 06, so what gives?

The K & N for 2004 and 2005 will fit the 2006. I have one. For best results clean and wash out the oil and lightly re oil. Filter should be pink not deep red.
On this subject has anybody had good results with the drop in. Besides not having to replace it do you notice a difference in mpg or power. Thanks, I would appeciate your input.
I have a Fram Air Hog and didn't notice any difference in performance. I think the only advantage is that you don't have to every buy a new filter...but the cleaning kits are around $12...should last for 2-3 cleanings though.

Wal-Mart sells the Fram Air Hog and they usually have plenty of them. Same thing as a K&N.
On before and after runs with the G-Tech accelerometer, the K&N drop in produces two horsepower gain. I repeat two horsepower. I run it because it lasts a lifetime, requires minimal maintenance (one clean about every 50,000 miles) and does help a little.
I also have the K&N AirCharger, and can switch between the two in about 20 minutes, after the AirCharger is fully assembled. It produces about a 10 horse gain based on the same accelerometer doing before and after runs.
I have stock exhaust. The combo of a less restrictive intake and a more free-flow exhaust will probably produce a greater gain than either alone.
I run the drop in because it is way quieter than the AirCharger or any other cone type intake. No louder than stock.

i have a K&N in my wifes car and it's going to get replaced with a true flow foam filter, ordered today. check out the video on there web site www.trueflow.com and you will not want to put a K&N in your truck.
yeah, i just saw that. I like the idea of keeping the factory air box. these kits with a "heat shield" and weather stripping are a freaking joke. Just a scam so they can dyno it with the hood open and show gains.

I can't tell that it makes any difference for me, but you will hear different opinions, and you know what they say about opinions. . . .
i ordered it from autopartswarehouse.com the true flow part # is 70201 it cost 32.61+ shipping of 5.50. the intake kit is part# 70510 and it's 236.95, but you get free shipping on orders over 50.00
hope this helps you
