All Titans run rich at WOT

My .02 cents if it helps

All Titans run rich at WOT when you go into open loop. The ecu pre-sets are rich about 11:1 if you get a Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, Adjustable from 30 to 75 psi. You will be able to adjust the fuel pressure down so at WOT you get 12.5:1. Your LTFT and STFT A/F in close loop will adjust to keep it at 14.7:1 for cruising. Mods will not change the way the LTFT and STFT A/F mix works in the ecu. The regulator return can T into the rubber hose from the gas fill to the tank. Start fuel pressure at 51 psi and with a Wide-band Air/Fuel Ratio Meter, drop the fuel pressure until you are up to 12.5:1 in WOT best to do this on a DYNO

Now all of us can adjust for any mods and better gas mileage and the price is right.

This will hold us over until a PROGRAMER comes available.

Re: All Titans run rich at WOT

I did this months ago among other mods (CAI) and I didn’t think anything of it I just assumed no big deal my CAI were working fine and the air / fuel was right where I wanted it to be, oops my bad as my kids would say. Sorry, no I did not do a dyno on just the regulator it is part of a bigger picture in which I am going back to work on.

Re: All Titans run rich at WOT

That is strange, my Titan (when bone stock) showed 12.5 at peak tq and 13.0 at peak hp on the dyno. Granted the wideband was the tail-sniffer kind, but it wouldnt be off more than .5. I dont know what the A/F ratio is now that I have mods.

Re: All Titans run rich at WOT

Thats great to hear GETSOMZ28 from what I have seen your one of the first, maybe its your ECU software ver. or all that I have seen is with mods. Maybe its time to get the tail-sniffer out to recheck, if it's off and rich consistently, then maybe this may help you. It's working for me and all I'm trying to do is share some info.
