Newbie here. Trying to get solid info on intake and exhausts

Hi there. I'm a new owner of a '06 Titan SE 2WD with a Big Tow and Traction package. I just traded in a '00 F150 XLT Supercab on this baby and I love it so far.

Anyway, I have a bunch of questions about intakes and exhausts for the Titans. I've been searching around for a couple days now, but am not getting the info I'm really looking for.

First off, there are a couple people out there reporting dyno results of about 18-20 HP and 28-30lb/ft of torque with the intakes and exhaust. Then I see a couple people claiming .7 seconds in the quarter mile. To me this doesn't add up and I'm wondering if I can get some folks to chime in with their quarter mile results and if they have had their ECM tuned or not?

Also, how do these mods effect freeway gas mileage? My F150 got 3mpg better with a home built single 3" cat back and a K&N FIPK which most of you might say "big deal" to, but if you do the math that's over 70 more miles on a tank of gas.

Also, any problems with CEL lights after these mods?

Thanks in advance for any advise,

Mike

Those horsepower gains look about right for a catback plus CAI. Not sure on the gains at the track (.7 doesnt sound right). I really havent noticed any mpg gains with those mods, but other may have. Also, you shouldnt have any CEL problems with those simple mods. Good luck and welcome!

Adding intake and exhaust together is worth maybe 20 ponies/ft lbs. I've done it, don't regret it, but it doesn't make a HUGE difference either (.7 in the 1/4...I wish). It makes the truck sound as tough as it is though.

BTW...

ECM tuning is sort of a pipe dream right now.
