Yes that is a Final Name.
PD for PreDrag. which is my first name.
and to fallow with size of the LS90mm Throttle body we have 90.
-------------------------PD90------------------------------------------
as we do with MGT90 for LS90mm and Venom 102 for LS 102mm.
As Jon Long from OWP has posted some info in his thread. I Would like to start my own thread and kind of get everyone to speed on the intake manifold.
Ever since I started hanging around on Facebook I have not been on here. For almost a year.
This Project Started last September. when I started looking into the Idea That JWT had when they started working on a same project.
trying to make M45 and FX45 variable intake manifold fit and work for Our VK56 Platforms.
For some Reason. they stopped and left the Manifold to sit and collect dust on their shelf.
At the same time around September last year. I was Able to Find and Purchase a Used Intake Manifold. And that's how it all Started.
Little less then A Year. I did all the R&D and put it all together. and right now we have a fully operational Prototype on my Pathfinder
I will be adding more Information its getting late. here Are few Pictures of it installed on My Pathfinder. It runs Like A stock. no issue with Cold starts. she fires right up. and we are in Test And Tune stages. no issues with heat being that its Aluminum intake.
I just made a 200mile each way trip to Carlisle PA Meet last weekend without any issues at all. Very good results so far. She pulls hard. Besides myself there are 2 more testers.
1 is 05 non VVT Titan. And another is 07 VVT Titan.
We all Have Dyno And 1/4 Mile track results from Stock Intake Manifold Setup, so it can be compared to the PD90.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""We are going to have a special on first 5 Plug and Play Intake Manifold Kits. they will include new LS90mm Throttle bodies for free. Everything you will need to get it to work will be included in this Kit. You will use your Injectors. The Price will Be $1,500 Dollars. After we sell those 5, Price will go up.
It will be sold Threw Jon. Open Wide Performance. And it will be Tuned by Randy Baker. As with other Intake Manifolds You will need an Uprev TO be able to Tune for it. Randy Baker has been in this Project from The beginning. If he told me he wouldn't be able to tune for here. I would have not bothered doing the project.
We will also Have an PD102 Option around $500 dollars Which will be Fully Ported lower Intake Manifold. and it will come with 102mm to 92mm Throttle Body Flange. You can use it with 102mm Or with 90mm Throttle body. and It will Improve the Air Flow. 1 of our testers Dereck Johnson will have this ported manifold on his vvt Titan. and we will also have his results later on with CS2 cams. that he has already waiting to get test results on stock cams.
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Before you guys start questioning the prices. This can not be compared to MGT90 or VENOM 102.
if you go to Nissan and purchase this upper and lower manifold new, You are looking in spending close to $1,000 dollars just for the manifold alone.
At $1,500 dollars I am loosing $. but I have invested so much into this that I need to start getting some of it back.
- Intake Manifold, Adapter Plates, Throttle Body Flange Fabrication To Clear our Thermostat Housing, and LS90mm Throttle body a alone is at $1,500 dollar range. not counting Fuel Rail and modification, all the hardware , all the parts and work to get it put together. this kit need over 30 different parts to make it all work.
SO How is this Manifold Different then the Other Manifolds?
For 1 this manifold is not a modification of a stock manifold.
When I say stock I mean all 3 ( STOCK, MGT90 AND VENOM 102 ) manifolds.
Besides all 3 of them having Different Diameter Necks, and Different Diameter Throttle Bodies,
They all use same Stock Long Runner Intake Manifold.
Best Way to explain PD90 is. If you where to put Stock Long Runner manifold and PerformanceVH short runner manifold together into 1 Intake manifold. You would get PD90.
Stock long runner manifold, no mater if its mgt90 and or venom 102 is designed to give best torque. and it starts loosing Horsepower. in upper rpm range.
PerformanceVH Short runner Intake Manifold. losses the low end torque.but builds a lot of HP vs stock up in higher rpms. even more with aftermarket cams.
PD90 has 16 runners.
it has 8 - 17 inch Long runners, which are same length as the Stock intake manifold long runner. Plus we have 1 inch adapter plates that make them 18 inch long.
and it also has 8 - short runners that are attached to the short runners. and each 1 has a butterfly valve that opens and closes when needed.
so with PD90 you have it all. Long runners for low end Torque. And Short Runners for Top End Horsepower.
Here is how the DUAL STAGE VARIABLE Intake Manifold works, Explained by NISSAN.
Here is MGT90 next to PD90 from front and back. you can see how it looks VS the Stock manifold. the PD90 is shorter by 1 inch. in height. but The adapter plates are 1 inch thick. so they are same size in height, when installed. made to fit. Titans, Armadas, QX56, Pathfinders, and vk56 swapped Frontiers and Xterras.
the opening on PD90 is 92mm up down x 87mm side to side.
it gets ported to 92mm opening.
Lower intake manifold and half od the 16 runners. with 8 long runner Bell Air Horns.
Inside of the upper Manifold. you can see the long runners and the Bell air Horns and Brass Butterflies inside the Short runners.
Closed and Open position.
I am Going to post Mine and my testers Dyno and Track numbers for comparison of Stock Intake Manifold VS PD90 Intake Manifold.
Here Is my Base Numbers from OEM Stock Intake Manifold & Throttle Body. 2008 VK56 VVT Pathfinder.
DYNO:
My best numbers where 319HP/369TQ. but the first place I went they did not know how to keep it from shifting gears, so Dyno charts looked like a mess.
2nd place I went they knew what they where doing. so I am using this Graph as my base numbers.
313HP/360.10TQ:
1/4 Mile Track:
Here is my 1/4 mile time with Stock Intake Manifold.
13.802, my Vehicle number at the track was 1840.
Tester #1, Mark Buitureira from Maryland. Owns 2005 Non VVT Titan:
Tester #2, Dereck Johnson From Louisiana. Owns 2007 VVT Titan.
His Base Stock Manifold Dyno Numbers Randy Baker Tuned Are: 305.05HP/343.91TQ. File # 003 In Red Color.
And His Base Stock Intake Manifold Setup 1/4 Mile Track Time of 14.178- RWD with TT

This is so tempting! I plan on replacing the starter next month and since I'm going to remove the OE intake manifold to access the starter, is this PD90 setup pretty much plug and play/bolt on?
ostaF, As you can see my posts in Facebook. and if you Read my 2 posts in here You would know that it was Just installed, and its in Testing and Tuning Stage. Also I don't think I will be Doing Dyno and Track in 100*+ temps. But I am happy to post Mine, and My Testers Base Stock Intake Manifold Dyno and Track Numbers in the post #3.
Which we will be using for Comparison.
PrimoV8 Yes sr. I am including in the kit as plug and play.
You will use your Injectors, and you will need to have Uprev Tuner, and have Randy Baker Tune I for you.
it does start up, Idle and drive like stock on stock uprev tune for your OEM Intake Manifold. I as running it with ong runners and getting tuning logs. ad was also testing it with stock tune in Variable long runner and short rur mode without any issues. but there are quite a few thing that will need to be adjusted by Randy to make it perfect.
Primo... Boriqua? I live 10 Minutes from NYC. PTown, NJ.
Why not run similar conditions to your slip in June? Having all other variables (weather, weight, tires, DA, etc) controlled helps isolate the true gains of the VK45 intake manifold.
Anyways, good luck with it. I'll check out the results like the other members here.
I want this manifold to work, and I want it to destroy the MGT90 in a dyno and track comparison. For real! I honestly think this should be the dominating manifold option out of what is currently available.. The science and operation behind this manifold should work very well especially in the upper rpm range (past 4500rpm range) due to the closed runners. Simple fluid dynamics and physics. It should also respond very well to cammed titans.
JWT started this project what seems to be nearly 10yrs ago but never finished it, so i'm glad to finally see it come to fruition. I enjoy every aspect of this build especially because its something everyone has wanted to see for many years.
Crazy how far the titan platform has come just within the last 3yrs with modifications.
still trying to get manifolds to testers and go from there, getting exciting to see what will happen, mine will go on after I hit the dyno again and get some minor bugs worked out then install manifold and do it all over again, hopefully this summer I'll hit the track with pre and we get some racing in
well mine will be the most unique test of all due to what done to it, Walter will also be doing one on his also so as of now there is 7 people that will have them on their vehicles which is pretty good to start out, the concept works, now it's just to see how well on our trucks and if the hp gains are worth the monetary value.
RPM Activated Digital Switch with Digital Display, AKA Window Switch.
Is used to control the Short Runners.
Testing right now the best RPM Pickup location for Window Switch.
Some locations tested are not stable in Higher RPM Range.
will be taking the prototype to dyno soon. this is a stock form VK45DE manifold with no modifications done to it besides the throttle body flange fabrication.
I went to 1/4 mile track to test the variable mode in different rpm ranges but the track was so full when I got there I was only able to
do 1 run.
Even with 1 run I was able to beat my best time that I hade with oem Intake Manifold Stock setup.
might have to rent a track for a day to do all the testing...
it was by a .1 of a second and little less then 1/2 a tank of gas. but very promising since it was done on non ported prototype.
short runners where set to come on in lower 5K range. once the Sweet spot is found it should be much better, Dyno should help a lot with that.
All this is still testing stage.
Dereck Johnson Is getting a Setup with Fully ported Lower Manifold. He has 07 VVT RWD Titan With Tru Trac. I will list all their mods in Post #3. he also has CS2 cams waiting to be Installed.
As soon as he gets dyno and track numbers with stock cams. he will get the CS2 cams installed and we will have numbers of a freshly installed cams as well. that's where these manifolds should shine.
With aftermarket cams.
I had few trips I already made with PD90 200 miles plus round trips and I have been getting better fuel mileage. which was something I never even thought about. lets face it, this project was nothing about saving fuel. LOL.
I was using cruise control driving 72mph and averaging 19.9mpgs. best with stock setup I would have would be mid 16's.
un expected.
Not much. Busy at work. And had some issues with my Fabricator, so working on my own Throttle Body flange adapter. going to try and hit a 1/4 mile track next week before it closes for a year. And Dyno.
Fabricat or has been giving me run around for months now. This is what has been holding it back.
