Cool-Pack Electric Fan Units
• Eliminates factory fan clutch, fan, and shroud.
• Increases horsepower and torque.
• High output, low amp electric fans.
• Adjustable thermal controller.
• Robust aluminum assembly.
• Durable black powder coated finish.
• Classic design enhances engine compartment.
• Simple hand tool installation.
• Pre-assembled and wired.
Features include dual high output electric fans controlled with a 160°F-210°F adjustable thermal switch mounted in an aluminum assembly with a black powder coated finish. A special cross flow isolator, a Perma-Cool® exclusive, maximizes fan efficiency. The Cool-Pack mounts solidly to the existing radiator core support (not the radiator) and uses the stock fan shroud mounting holes and fasteners. Requires no drilling, tapping or modifications.
Installing Cool-Pack couldn’t be easier! Simply remove the stock fan shroud and fan clutch/fan assembly. Next, install the pre-assembled and pre-wired Cool-Pack using the factory holes and hardware. Finally, connect three wires (power, ground and air conditioning clutch.) That's all there is to it!

I think the major benefit is that your fan has a parasitic effect on your engine, meaning when your fan kicks on it is powered by a pulley powered by your engine. This reduces engine out put or horse power. The fan being electric or engine driven should have no effect on how cool it keeps the engine. The electric fans are just powered by the battery instead of the engine, leaving the piower where you want it.

Those who have used these before, how is the noise from the fans? Quieter, louder, same?

I had flex-a-lite fans on my 4Runner and when they kicked on it would put a pretty good load on the alternator and would slow the idle speed. That I did not like at all. They also made a pretty good mount of noise. I had one on my Ranger which was off a Focus and it worked a lot better. It did not put a huge load on the alternator and was whisper quiet.
