Brake Master Cylinder Bracket...

Went ahead and started on a bracket for this thing...I was gonna buy one but took a look under the hood and it looks easy enough...I got some 10 Gauge steel from a last project and its pretty darn strong and sturdy so I used that...I woulda bout the bracket from Stillen but asked for a break in price and got a "cant go any lower, its already 55 bucks"...I was just looking for a 5 buck break or summin but oh well...started to work on it and am almost done...total price so far to make is less than 10 bucks...my master cylinder hardly had any play when I had my cuz stomp on the brake for me to see so for sure this bracket should eliminate that small amount of movement.

If all goes well I will have an extra one of these brackets and will give it to anyone who wants...Stillens bracket looks a bit thicker then mine but this steels pretty strong and if it ends up bending which I really doubt I will go to a bit thicker steel...This bracket Im making right now is just a prototype and prolly after everything fits intoplace and looks good Im going to make another and that will be the one I will used. WELL enough already with the chitchat here are some pics...

If this works the way I want and all goes well I will post dimensions, etc. so u guys could make one urself...

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Bracket...

Almost done...Im going to paint the bracket black since it is steel and well the u-bolts stainless so Ill leave that the way it is...The pictures have 2 U-Bolts and I MIGHT still use 2 but for now I am only using one...

ye bro...a vice and a hammer...used a block of wood in between but I figured what the hell..this is steel and Ima have to paint it anyway and prolly sand it down so who cares if it has some blemishes u wont be able to tell after its done ...it took a while to "mock" this one up...but so far so good...

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Bracket...

I have thought about doing this myself. I noticed the Stillen version does not fit ABLS Titans which mine is. I just have not got around to doing it.

Ive been having to write a freakin 10 page paper for school and have been writing it but decided to take a break today from schoola nd work on the truck. I need about 4 more pages so if I finish tonight then for sure I can finish the bracket tomorrow...Ill keep u guys updated...

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Bracket...

The things I do for you guys...lol...I went outside with a flashlight and my camera and took some pics of how my master cylinder looks...and since some of u asked, I went ahead and put the bracket in just temporarily so u can see it in place...AND like I said it not done yet I cit the u-bolt too short so in the pics ull see it not quite make it past the bracket...THATS WHY I SAID IT WASNT DONE...hehe...the hardware store closed by the time I noticed I cut it to short...I cut the U-bolt 3 times to get it right and went TOO much the third time...lol...freakin stainless is tough...I would go through a blade real quick on both sides of the u-bolt butting with the jig saw...SO this project is prolly gonna cost me about 15 bucks but after I do the write up...for u guys it should come out under 10...

heres how it looks...the cylinder itself...can someone tell me if I got that ABLS or whatever...

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Bracket...

Good job on the fabrication. Igot lazy and bought the stillen piece. It works well notice firmer brakes. If you have or have access to a welder weld a support on the firewall side. This will make it alot stronger.
