Anyone ever make their own cold air intake?

I'm a major DIY guy and have built CAI's for several cars including my '92 300ZX, '77 280Z, '87 Buick Grand National, '99 Buick Regal GS, and '97 Cavalier with great results.

I'm a little worried because it looks like the Titan's are very sensitive to different CAI's. Has anyone made their own CAI and what were the results?

Re: Anyone ever make their own cold air intake?

this is my verson. i took the factory airtube, and cut off those extension. i still have a fiting on the tube, for the vapor recycling fiting. i simply bought a 8'' long section of 3'' dia, 4ply turbo charger, rubber hose, put it in place, and used aluminum doct tape, to seal the connection. i have a trueflow filter. this works just like the trueflow intake. why pay $250. mines cost $70. none of the of the freaking problems of the other stuff. works for me.
