Re: stillen or mossy header

why would nissan build the cats into the exhaust manifold? doesnt this seem stupid? if u get a clogged cat you have to pull the entire manifold?

thats almost incentive enough to junk them and go off road. I dont have emmission testing where I live, but do any of you running the headers have it and how do u pass?

Re: stillen or mossy header

From what I've read - unless you have a supercharger - the headers will do little or nothing for you. They may also wreck your air/fuel ratios resulting in less than optimal performance.

Using the search function will be helpful for you in dispelling your current stance.

Titanfan59 was nice to you. You are just out and out way off the mark.

My 98 Mustang GT had 6 power-robbing cats. Damn California.

Hay mark can you post your dyno I want to overlay with mine I am curious how the power is under the curve. I want to see how the power is after the peak. I am thinking mine will fall off a bit less from 5500 to 6000 RPM but I would like to see.

Also is 307 corrected HP or the direct power put to the ground?

Re: stillen or mossy header

I thought you still need the primary cats to avoid the MIL light and a shutdown of the motor? the ECU runs in limp mode or wil run like crap due to the O2 sensors after the CATS. So we would need new random Tech CATS on each side of the headers, or will the old ones work? That downpipe from the Cats have the O2 bungs for the sensors to screw in. that would need changed also.

Chris...I never had 4 cats...just 2 cats and 2 resonators.by way of dyno i would say my motor runs OK and probably better than most.i have 02 simulators connected inline with my rear o2's that tells the ecu all is well...the rear sensors still function some ...i can watch them increment as i get on the gas using my PC based scan tool.

This is the main reason I have held off buying the headers. The simulator on the O2 sensors renders them inoperative. Or sets a constant value, so either the system is in the bypass/limp mode, or it is just getting an average reading from the sims not to set the CEL. So, fuel is NOT being regulated, which I fear may drop our gas mileage even more.

Yomama....read once more...."my rear sensors still increment" my tuck runs fine....if i were in bypass/limp mode my CEL would be on..

I also get better gas milage now...less restriction...just dirty exhaust
