Flowmaster 70 series question

First post....I enjoy reading all your posts, very informative and maybe someday I can be of assistance to other members. My 06 titan se has 900 miles, and I have recently put K&nb 77 series, and flowmaster 70 series. I read that someone else on here has 70 series, he said it was kinda quiet at first but then got a little louder. Is there something in the installation or post-installation that can be done to make it a little louder for my money? Or will it really get louder on it's own. Sounds real good with a low growl thats exactly what I wanted. Thanks to all of your sound clips I was able to make that decision. Intake went on at about 300 miles, and exhaust 900(yesterday). Thanks for any input. Muffler was installed at Midas, joints were welded.

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

I'm assuming it's a 52571, same one I have. Mine has been on since 800 miles and I now have 1720 miles. The sound is the same, flows have welded steel baffles and should never change in sound unless they rust away internally. So far, I still love the sound and had mine clamped in, not welded, and no air leaks.

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

Thanks for your response. Is there anything I can do aside from purchasing something else (wife will kill me) to make it a little louder?

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

not really- aside from cutting out the 70 series and dropping in a 40 series- that would make it alot louder- I have about 9500 miles on my exhaust

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

Thanks, I just got through talking with a mechanic at my work and he suggested the same thing. I love the way the 70 series has that low growl, and I don't mind any type of resonation in the cab, I bought the exhaust so I could hear it and that part does not bother me. Is the other series you mentioned going to still have that low sound? Thanks for your help.

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

Ok....So I ordered the super 40 flowmaster muffler....I wish I would have thought about this sooner, but couldn't I have just replaced the muffler instead of buying the whole cat back system, or would I have not gotten any performance gains? Anyway I know there are already sound clips of each but I will record the 70 series before I remove it and the super 40 after install. Thanks for you input.

Re: Flowmaster 70 series question

the catback system should've replaced your stock restrictive Y after the resonators.. So just swapping out the muffler alone wouldnt have done much if anything at all.. Yes adding the 40 series is night and day diffrence in loudness from the 70 series.. 70 series imo is for 50+yr old men that still want something nice and civil 40 series is for anyone that has a die hard desire to be noticed and have performance as well
