Exhaust Grounding Straps

Read about them in a post on ECU resetting. Anybody know if they are worth or do anything? You can buy them here pretty cheap:

http://www.dxengineering.com/products.asp?ID=178

The folks selling Hyperground sell the same ones. One site has 'em for $35.00.

Anybody know the stock pipe diameter?

The exhuast is already grounded and I think this was disscused before recently. Most thought it was a waste a money.

Re: Exhaust Grounding Straps

i added a active ground kit to my truck. before i did i spoke with a friend that is also a ase master tech. i asked him about this ground kit and he said he has seen nissans in his shop and they have had ground issue's , he says that with all the new enigines that are all aluminum ,it's hard to get good grounds for the computers.since i installed mine the bass is better on the stereo. i worked at a cadillac dealer years ago, and when they were first comming out with the computers the cars had ground issue's and we had to install star washers at the ground's on the body.

Re: Exhaust Grounding Straps

I believed he's asking about exhaust grounding, some say a good grounding exhaust system will get rid of the drone and vibration.

Re: Exhaust Grounding Straps

Yep, I'm asking about exhaust grounding. Snake oil?

I did the Hyperground System and that does make a difference even if just a placebo effect.

Re: Exhaust Grounding Straps

I reset the ECU after installing the grounding strap on the exhaust based on that other thread (just to be complete). I have had this setup for a couple of weeks now. There is no noticeable decrease with the low RPM/low speed drone from the Banks.

BTW, I recently drove through a long tunnel and goosed the gas. OH....MY....GOD.... I had a grin from ear to ear.

Re: Exhaust Grounding Straps

a grounding strap will not decrease the drone from any exhaust system unless they have become quite a bit more high tech then in my days. i wont go into the technical to save pages of info that can be found on the net if sumone actually searches.
